I wish!
Saved up some cash but then I had to book my test, tax my car, pay for insurance and I need to save some money for petrol when I pass(hopefully) so soon as put some cash aside it will be lowered.
Some time in the next 2-3 it should be low but I thought it was best to just get the thing on the road first

Had a day of college so thought i would get this rev counter sorted for good!!
So spent an hour first going through the wiring diagram=head ache.
The grey wire i had found was spose to wire up to a black wire further up the loom but i couldnt find it.
So taped it back up and ive and have ran a wire from the grey wire along the loom and to the back off the dash joining the black wire( 5th pin) on the dash connector and it was success!!!
Pics!!

The grey wire which sends the pulse from the rendix!
Image

Grey wire connected to this brown wire to reach the dash, joined with blue connector and taped slightly (not finished)
Image

All tidied up, can see the brown wire coming down the loom.
Image

Brown wire going into the dash connector joining with the black wire(5th pin) probably could of taken the black wire out but thought it was best to leave it there.
Image

And while i was here thought i would spoil myself and put my preferred econometre in!! and if no ones seen how the econometre works heres a pic of the back.

And heres the final result! the dash is now in my eyes perfect.

How is economy measured then?

Well done! More gauges, more fun :-)

Rev counter and econ are the ones to have - the ambient temp gauge is always wrong, and I've never really needed voltmeter, oil temp & pressure either ...

vacuum off the carb, theres a pipe coming off then it goes into a "t" piece (as pictured) the bottom one is the pipe for the eco metre.
the vacuum pulls this mechanism down causing the needle to move. there is some fancy name for the eco's mechanism but ive forgotten it!

Fantastic car theo. I like the black headlight inserts, makes a load of difference. Glad you got the rev counter sorted too. Wheels and centre caps look fantastic! 8)

Really like how this is coming a long, with the right tyres and a bit of lowering it'll look fantastic. Great colour too!
