Think the profile looks right for the car imo. 13s on low profiles look rubbish.
Youve got to be pretty happy with that look now man.

Cheers VND! Yeah, dead happy! The tyres fill the arches more, so it definitely looks better.

Tbf, I'd have turned you away

No idea how they let stretch like that go through their company with the claims situation as it is now

Ha ha! That's a fair point. It was the surprise when I walked in, I'd literally said nothing and he was proper angry. Ah well, its a very minor stretch anyhow.

Cheers dude. As for the grill, I need a MK2 one, as I bought a MK3 one off MCHUDD and it didnt fit, so had to send it back. I didn't want to bodge it on.

I made up some 1" blocks today, but I don't think I'm going to lower it any more, as its nice being able to drive it without scraping. But who knows. If I do, I'd want to go lower at the front too. I quite like the slightly raked stance. As for tyres popping off rims, you hear stories, but I've had no problems. Even with the 175s on a 9J rim. People drift on them too, so it's nothing to worry about. if they are seated properly and have a decent air pressure, there won't be a problem.

I understand the lowering thing, Id hate for my car to scraping.
How do they get the stretched tyres on? I've put alot of tyres on where I used to work, but surely stretch ones are going to need a bit more effort?

Yeah, depending on the method and amount of stretch. With a bead blaster its pretty easy. Thats what they used for my tyres. I've seen hairspray coupled with a lighter before, thats funny to watch, and the tyre levers and tyre tube combo.
Heres a vid of a space saver on a wide rim

It looks hilariously crap, but the method works!

Cheers dude. Yeah, definitely needs a chrome grill. It'll break up the black a bit. As for the paint, in a way, I quite like it like that. If it wasn't metallic paint, I would have done it a long time ago. That patch of rust needs sorting out, but the rest, (wiithout trying to sound too gay or scenester) its a little bit rat look, how it should be done (as in, money on performance parts, not on the body). Not just a grinder to the paint and let it rust on purpose sort of stuff.
If I were to re-spray it, I'd do a full strip down, re-build and powder-coat everything, but for now I don't have the time, space or money.

I wish I had a garage!

So last night was a long one. I had a drive-train whine for a bit, thinking it was a thrust bearing. I'm now not so sure, as last night at 2 in the morning, I lost drive to the wheels, and just got an all mighty grinding noise (I'm pretty sure its the splines on the input shaft, I'll know once I look at it). Luckily I was with my girlfriend, who has free recovery on her name. To top off the night, I got home to find my flat broken in to, and my bikes stolen. They were chained up. They forced the lock, and broke through the door. I've been up all night waiting for a police officer to who never came as well.
You just can't make this stuff up sometimes. Either way, its an excuse to build another bike (not a priority) and tinker with the car more. Ah well,i f anyone needs me, I'll be under the car.

Hi jon.
With a bit of luck, the f**k**s will die trying to sell your bikes.
They need some Belfast justice. A 9mm round in the back of both knee caps to put them on sticks.
They would then think twice about robbing people.Hope you get them back.
Cheers Mark.

Not insured unfortunately, my gaf's bike was gievn to her, so no loss on that, but mine was a fancy hard core job, so they just clocked that and took what they could. Bastards.

Now THAT ^^ made me laugh so much. Too right. Chop their hands off and stop them doing it again. Thanks guys. Had the coppers round, very helpful, and CSI processing now. Luckily I paid trde for my bike, so its not too much of a loss to be honest. That and I've deduced what's wrong with the car. Engine end of the prop, the splines have rounded off, so the engine just spins nothing. The reason is I think is that the input shaft I got for the conversion had worn areas on the splines in the middle. The clamp's force has located in the worn area, and has gradually worked its way loose. Easy fix, just a new prop. There's luckily a lot of spline that isn't worn, so with the new prop I'll located it there instead. Another option is a replacement input shaft. But that might be hard to find. I'll remove the offending bits and get some pics.
