yea i decided to do some experimentation with polish and wet/dry paper and me being me decided to start with the bonnet  so its now a bit pinky so on with the black, gloss black as it will be funny having a matt car with a gloss bonnet rather then the usual gloss car with matt bonnet.

Ill will try and get u some piccies of its pinkness.

You HAVE to pic it up before you black it over man.

Sounds camper than Steve P's hairdresser/nail technician-mobile.

I live on a private road, about 20 yards long.

The road is straight.

There are no obstacles, or through traffic.

0700 this morning, a woman driver managed to hit my car between leaving her front door, and reaching the end of the road.

Damn she must of done that in some speed, it is quite big dent.

Is she paying for the damage? Is there any cctv nearby that might provide evidence in case if she gets difficult?

Hopefully everything end up well, but that is just outrageous act she did commit, probably was not even nice milf that would comfort you as pre payment?

At least it looks repairable, new fender and possibly needs bit of inner fender hammering, though.

She was pissed is what she was.
I was on my way out to work, didnt have time to play it out with her, and ive got too much heart to drop the law on her.

Im going round to see her tonight.
Ive got her insurance details so i dont think shes going to try anything cheeky.
And she only lives over the road, so i dont think shes going to try and mess me around.

Not while ive got her car keys anyway. :o

Thinking about writing it off/buying it back Ad.
Agreed value is £1000 on my policy. With a 250 ecxess.

New wing from Volvo, paint mix and proff respray might get up near that??

Remember those no claims bonuses, insurance prices are not cheap and in here they have stupid rule that declines no claims bonuses from few years after incident, well my insurance has, don't know if all has this same policy :(

Proff respay is perhaps most of 300? Wing is going to be under 200 for sure, half day of labour perhaps over those?
Wing is so easy to pull of that I think it should be done by yourshelf, it would save a lot and that is task which can't be messed up no matter how bad day one has.Cutting half hour of labour is still going to be almost tank of petrol, depending how much labour cost around there.

Argh noooo! That's a bugger :( Hope you can get it sorted through insurance, that's where 300's start to rust first in most cases so if you think on the positive side you should get a nice new wing out of it  I think a decent bodyshop and parts/labour would be £250-300

Bad luck mate - you must be gutted. At least you know who it was, which is rare really.

INSURANCE prices that will easy be a grand, hence write off. You supplying the wing to a paintshop and paying him cash in hand, then bolting it in yourself (which is dead easy) - then you're paying more what SteveP quoted. So yeah, let them write it off, then buy it back. It'll be Cat D damaged - but who cares?

* Edit - you probably wont even have to buy it back, they'll almost certainly just give it to you. After all, they were just going to turn it into a meter cube of steel and frankly they could do without the hassle.
