Not a chance, unless you remove the rear bench and even then i dont think it would :( They *just* fit in a hatch

ouch! finger's crossed it's a mistake that won't happen again. I've had a few 'moments' in my 3 years driving but luckily none like that. Repairs look good and something looks better about it too. If anyone could fix the damage in as little time with as little cost it would be you with your mountain of spares.

Main thing is to get back out on the road so it doesn't hit your confidence too hard, just enough to keep you sensible (as you can in a 300 :D )

I just had a flashback actually! My closest moment came 2 years after I started driving. I'd just bought the 340 and was on my way back from a house party the following afternoon (certainly wasn't drunk but may have not been looking at the road for other reasons). Was cruising at 60 down a country road, looking at how nice a day it was. Look down and my mate has stopped about 20 feet away to let a tractor pull into a field. SCCCREEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEECH.

Could have fit gasket paper between the bumpers. My mate just laughed at me for being a tit. Very lucky boy I am, taught be a valuable lesson

Going over the A174? moors road from Middlesbrough to Whitby. Two Lanes. Rocking aout 75 in my GLE.
Opposite lane in the distance is a coach with about 675 cars stuck behind it.
Some prick in a 3 series BM pops out from the back of the queue and sets out overtaking 675 cars and a coach.
I had enough time to think "hes never gonna make it" before I realised that I was in his way.
Anchors, screaming girlfriend, two of my wheels on the moor and he just made it. If I was a lorry we would all be dead. All 1089 of us.

Would be the A171 i'd say, A174 is between A19 and where you go up slip road and turn right onto the A172 then turn right at nunthorpe onto A171, the moor road which contains such joys as birk brow and the sign that has said '51 casualties in last 3 years' for the last 10 years lol
I do Durham to Whitby nearly every weekend
Always some idiot on there, or a sheep they canny bad too.

I've had 2 'moments in the GLT, one was trying to show the boy racers that old volvo's are cool and over- corrected some oversteer and ended up an inch off a very solid brick wall. The other was a couple of weeks ago when i went up to kielder and went a tad too over-confidently down a gravel track, taking out half a tree worth of branches and dug a channel about 40 foot long out a muddy bank. No damage to car but had to dig a shit load of mud off the underside :)

Overtaking a car in Romania with a Jeep Cherokee at night. Help, there's an unlit Dacia coming towards me, brake pedal to the floor, ABS throbbing, no chance to get back behind the car again, off the road, across a ditch, into a field.

Lucky it was in a 4x4 ...

Good work on the cobbling. Make sure you replace any rustproofing now missing / paint now broken. I can get the bonnet to Devon if you're stuck.

cheers

James
