I find my car quite easy to steer with the 185 tyres while everyone is complaining about the 300's stearing being heavy. Even when hardly moving...
So I am not worried about 10 extra mm...

Having spent the last 350m driving the GLT, PAS is quite nice... though I need to drive Kar a bit again to see what the difference really is. It's sweet for parking, but I'm not sure I like it in normal driving.

after a few more miles you'll just get used to it, trust me. then you'll get back into a non-pas car and you'll feel it as being really heavy.

Right, spotted some 400 alloys that I was sure existed, but could not find anywhere for an image. I had to go all the way to Great Yarmouth to spot these though! Meant to be away on holiday...... They look very similar to the 900 alloys. I think these on a 300 would look quite good, something different that hasn't been done to the best of my knowledge.

Sorry phonecam picture........but I got a picture.

Adam, any idea of how much the asking price is for a set and what size tyres are on them and condition, not really needed as such, but I like them and I've always got a car they can go onto! Cheers mate.

Right, did a little bit of research, had a look in my 960 brochure, the 900 version is called Altair. It would be nice to know what the 400 version is called. There are so many different styles in the 400 range, all with names, what happened with the late 300 alloys!

Adam, any idea on those alloys? Cheers.

Took a bit of searching, but the 1996 Accessories brochure came up trumps!. Thay aren't shown in the 400 section, but this is the extract from the 900 section. Basically, they are called Altair!!!

And following the search for the Altairs here's a list of all 400 series alloys listed in my various brochures.

Good work Rupert. Hmmm, looking carefully it seems as though they're slightly different in the form you've found. They look like straight spoked altair, compared to the slightly curvaceous one's I've fouind in the 960 brochure. (btw Rupert, the cover is nearly how your car looks now, but it's missing that nice touch of a spoiler on the brouchure!) Hmmm, all very interesting, I'm sure there are still some more 400 styles to be found, as I'm sure I've seen them with genuine Volvo marks on them.
