No problem!
My intention was to scan those green books and to put them in the technical section of the website... But you know time flies...

I just wish the 360 would, but that mod will have to wait for a while!

My intention was to sort out the rust on my car, fit a B230ET, fit my rear head restraints (yeah..in a hatch...hop on baby!), etc.....
.....I blame you lot keeping me talking!!
cheers

Talking of which james, my 360 glt i bought came with rear head rests, and as far as i know they were only fitted to saloons, so i think the back support has been taken from a saloon, but did they make a saloon GLT, with the Black and grey GLT interior?
Also the headrest in the rear, there not supposed to be fixed in the seat, so when you tilt the seat forward, you slide them out and yu achieve normal load space! - Am i correct?!

Yeah, I pinched a set from a saloon. Sounds like the same happened to yours at some point!
Yeah, that was the clincher - I tested it, and they just slide out! Genius!
Why they weren't standard I'll never know!
cheers

At the mo in the GL, the bloody rear view mirror keeps falling off,but i can reverse into tight spaces ets with the side mirrors easy peasy! But in the GLT with a RVM, its pretty naff especially for reversing, as you cant see Sweet F A out the rear!(because of rear headrests) - Well you can, just not towards the rear corners - important when parking! Even with the good old head turn its a struggle!
But the do look a damn sight better!
Also was leather only standard in some saloons, ive never seen or heard of it being in the hatchbacks! All the pics have rear head restraints, hence my deduction! I saw a bog standard 1.7 GLE at the lights the other day with leather, i looked on in jelousy, and they looked on to see me smoke em!

how long is this thread!! lol anywaz the easiest way to sort this out is, in austrlia we drive RHD vehicals, soo everyone who has a RHD vehical can have aircon.. simply. so if your in the UK then you should be right. oh and the condensor is located in the front and the evaperptor is located in the cabin.

I think the rear head restraints were standard only in some markets/countries. And in some countries (mine, for example) the cars even came without rear seatbelts!! Volvo safety?? It probably has something to do with country specific safety regulations at the time...

could you not run the headrests w/o cusioning - so that you can see through them?
incidentally, when did the cusioning come in? my car has it on drivers side only, yet me folks car (back in the day) didnt.

Cusioned headrests if fitted would have been on both sides, i suspect somebody fitted just one on the drivers side for comfort, and yes the slatted style head rests can also be used in the rear, and would provide more vision, but i prefer the cushioned one and so would the occupants.
At a guess i'd say the cushioned head restraints were introduced around form '86 onwards as my 360 gl had them fitted from new! However i think they were only fitted on high spec vehicles, i.e. the 360 GL, GLE & GLT, however some later 340 GLE's had them, especially if they were trimmed in leather!

Good point - Aus = RHD, so we're all good!
Slatted ones are a base-model thing I'd say.
As far as I know, any saloon above a base model (340 GL for a saloon?) would have rear restraints - I have seen saloons without though.
cheers
