Sounds good to me :) Although the tyres may be hard to come by as i've already said. I looked everywhere for mine, even ordered a few sets and then 5 mins later they'd phone me up and say they didnt have enough tyres so ended up refunding me. The final company i tried, had a set, but they were in Germany  Still free postage. So bear in mind if you go this route tyre sourcing could be hard. I've heard the yoko 175/50/13's which are much easier to come by give the same stretch/look as the 195's :) Just you loose 20mm in tread compared to the 195's

Bollocks. It ain't necessarily so, young grasshopper.

The 195 or 175 is the nominal section width, this is the width of the unstressed tyre from sidewall to sidewall. It isn't the same as the tread width.

As far as I've seen so far, it's down purely to the manufacturer. Something I look out for when getting part worns

I sit corrected :D So you could loose 20mm of tread, but it could be less?

My thoughts are this:

A 195/45 R13 tyre on a 7x13 is okay (anywhere between 6" to 7½" rim width is okay for this size of tyre according to Continental). However, the load index on that particular Continental tyre is 75, which equals 387kg.

Looking at the VIN plate on my car, the MAM is 1485kg, with a max front axle mass of 670kg and a max rear axle mass of 825kg. So on the rear, the tyres are not going to be within spec. Can you get a 195/45 R13 with a higher load index? (78 or more)

Don't get me started on 175/50 R13s! (or insurers)

By all means change the wheels/tyres, but consider picking a tyre / rim combo that fits together correctly (e.g. not stretched) AND one with the correct load and speed indices. It'll be a lot less ball-ache down the line (especially with insurers and the plod)

I'll keep this in mind but i'm just gonna have to look at availability first. I think i know a place in the uk that will be able to supply these tyres :D
