At 2010 I still daily drove my 360 GLT Turbo, I did 20k km at that year. I did daily drove it untill this year but it didn't do much km's at last two years as it was under repairs (head gasket, head rework, gearbox, lot's of welding etc...) most of the time, so I drove the 240 instead.

Winter usage in Finland really puts a lot of stress on older cars, if you don't rebuild the car from scratch and protect it with modern methods against rust etc... so at the spring I made a decision and bought a -98 Volvo S90 3.0 as a daily driver and the 360 and 240 have been officially transferred to a non daily driver status.

Been using my 1988 360 GLT Saloon daily as you may know

Just out of MOT now though & needs work :(

Have gone from 80K odd to 150K+ miles in three years

Averages over 36 MPG including quite a lot of towing

I've been dailying my 360 GLEi SE saloon most of the summer. And it's just flown through the MOT yet again, no advisories.

My heater fan problem is probably just a loose connection - the MOT centre tested the unit and it's live, but not getting any power to it. I guess it's a dials out and root around job. Any suggestions what to look for?

I've swapped the resisitor for a known good one, and the fan still won't start.

What is a resistor "pack" and what part of it is the thermal cut out? The thing I replaced is the lttle metal cagey thing with a coil inside it. What else is there to replace?

This thread has made me relise how long it's been since Vicky used to daily the 340.

She started using it in oct 2003 with 86,000 miles on the clock. It was last used daily early 2008 and taken fully off road by end of 2008 and not used again  It now has over 210,000 miles showing on the spedo giving an average of 25,000 miles a year going on october to october. I would say it was actualy more 30,000 miles.

What went wrong with it.

Exhaust dead and replaced in stainless,
Carb jambed throttle open - replaced with 240 K JET TB and petrol system fully removed.
Shocks and springs all replaced,
1.7 engine burnt out valve and 2ltr fitted
2ltr sucked in water and bent crank+ rods
Lower ball joints,
steering rack
1 front wheel bearing,
both rear wheel bearing
Prop

They were teh main things I remeber doing other than that it was realy just the basics like oil/filter, tyres, service items and lots of fuel.

Hoping that Vicky will take to a nice modern Amazon as a propper daily now but still got some arm twisting to do.

It is still in my stash but needs major surgery. Wheel arches are rotten, holes in engine bay, rear of sills gone, rear valance gone and the doors are in need of replacment.

It is a shame that it has gone that bad. I sent to to a local body shop to be done by sat there for well over a year without being touched other than cutting out some of the rust in the engine bay. :x

I even have a rebuilt 2ltr 16 valve engine that was going to be coupled to a snail to go in still at my dads house.

With motor trade insurance having a few cars is not a problem, road tax for our older cars is a killer when you have more than 1! That is why I want Vicky to use a Amazon as a daily, the P1 V70 T5 as backup car and I'll just have my old 145 as my daily/van that does not harm having crap shuved in the back of it. Other than that I have a early amazon that I want to restore and probably build a late amazon track car.

With the above list of cars where will a 300 fit in? I do still have the love and do get tempted every now and then (1.4 in offer section now  ) but it would only be a backup car that would need that expensive round disc unless................

I convert it to electric power 340pw Now that would make a differnt 340
