Loving this, going to be a lovely subtle looking car but with all the go and sorted mechanically.

Well thats a good comment!

Did you notice it has no back window. also just discovered I've cut the saloon parcel shelf incorrectly for the speakers, looks 'adjustable' though.

Mot and insurance locked and loaded for Tuesday night, so might be on the phone looking for last minute parts lol. Must test the squirties tonight!

Jesus its a bit mental, steering not adjusted, turbo wooshing and pssting, wheels spinning at the slightest excuse (wet), lights all over the place. Feels weird after driving the 940 sofa for so long. perched high up, no power steering and a heavy race clutch. May have to pull out the PS kit (and yes get a boyfriend).

MOT tomorrow night late, need to adjust lights and secure the turbo gauge, and maybe get steeering aligned.

Well MOT was passed and I didn't die or the car go on fire on the way. It behaved well in fact and caused a bit of a stir with test guys.

Does seem horribly noisey, too much turbo noise comming from the cone filter, slightest acceleration and backoff there is a big dump valve pssht aswell as whooshing on boost. Is this right, do I just need a more sensible air filter?

Still some issues with idle and cornering is not quite right even after alignment. Radius arm bushes are crud though, waiting my bush cup tool to go with the new poly bushes, so hopefully that will sort it.

Did they even know what a 360 is?

I had to read that again, you say you don't want to hear the turbo? Are you ill?

Yes I'm going for subtle sleeper, I'm nearly not 40 something :) Going to have to change the air filter or box it. Never thought the standard valve would be so loud, the 940 does a good job of quietening it.

There were a few questions as to what it was and that they had never seen one. Pretty rare in NI now, apart from Marks, Ollies, Richards and a few retro ads I havn't seen any on the road for a number of years. If I did see one likely I'd stop and chat. Might be interesting driving this thing about.

Mark, yes definately a milestone but still plenty to do, at least I can take it to the experts easily now.

Need head lining, paint fixing, exhaust
Back window install
Exterior trim and badges
New radius mount cups
Radio + speakers!
Maybe PS
Maybe reduce the clutch strength
Maybe adjustable shocks
Furry dice

no sunroof and its a saloon, mainly damaged at the back window where it glues onto the window frame. I'm hoping a trimmer can just patch it.

The noise will be entirely down to the airbox setup... if you can fit the stock 940 airbox with all the deadening material in place, there should be hardly any turbo spool or dumping noise. Or is there any way you could adapt the 360 injection airbox to fit? The same airbox and filter was used in early 240 turbos so I suspect it must be deemed good enough for forced induction also.

The later 940 air box is huge, no mission, GLT overhangs into the turbo piping to get air from the hole I've used for the intercooler.

I'm thinking the B200K filter box might work with the cone filter, worse case its a custom build job, maybe suck cold air from the wing cavity. Now where is that 3D printer?

Well things took a few steps back while I improved the clutch and diff. I stepped down from the race clutch to a diesel/turbo clutch and this should work fine and feels nice and light.

On the Diff there are more details in the LSD thread but it turned out that the custom diff was permanently locked up because of 0.3mm in the wrong place. This was resolved with some machining.

Steering is back to normal, which I can manage with but do really want the PS and just need the column.

Took her for a good drive tonight and enjoyed it, good control and grip and the heat shields doing their job in the engine bay.

Still plenty to do though.
