I had to have my downpipe changed at a Volvo main dealer - he was most embarrassed about not being able to supply the original part.

On average I have to replace my Bosal silencers (both middle and tailpiece) every 2-3 years, usually just after the guarantee runs out :?

A worthwhile trick might be to take the DP to an exhaust "shop" and have them replace the section which is blowing as a temporary measure while you get working on something which will last better (stainless?) and perhaps has some performance benefits...like a turbo flange ;)

cheers

Oh, and as for my feelings on the 300s...
I'll be driving mine as long as I possibly can, I still buzz every time I get in, and I LOVE how much it upsets the neighbours- they know where I work and how I can afford something loads newer and shinier. They're all on the dole and spend all their family allowance money on booze and 12ft trampolines.
I have big plans for my 360, and I'll probably buy 2 or 3 more when it's finished, also I may be able to produce and sell a kit to allow fitting of the engine which I'm attempting to gaffer tape in.

Think that'll be one for a non-PAS car :(

I got one from my local motor discount which fits my PAS car. I had to get it for the MOT a few months back. I won't be needing it for much longer, unless I should keep it in case I have to put the b200 back in. How knackered is yours, as maybe we could p/x and I'll have yours as a spare (welded up) in case it all goes wrong and I have to revert to the original engine.

Timax is a very poorly regarded aftermarket brand, afaik.

Arn't aftermarket exhausts just something else to add to the 12month service? The (non bosal, random make) back box lasted less that 12months on Fake :(

It might be worth moving these posts somewhere else, to avoid spoiling Dai's nice "300 in ten years' time" thread :-)

Mine always go at the same place: the join between the centre and rear silencer and the join between the rear pipe and rear silencer. In another forum I saw someone recommending a coating of zinc spray and heat resistant exhaust paint for the vulnerable bits.

Might be worth a try ...
