Looking good, that window stuff is class, i remember someone telling me once that a lot of weight can be saved from replacing the glass with perplex or what ever its called. How hard would this be to do to a 300 and how much do you think it would cost?

Dan, it cost me £60.01 inc. VAT for that 8ft x 4ft 5mm thick sheet. Unsure if you could get a full 300 set out of one sheet like.
As for making them it should be simple enough, jigsaw and angle grinder with alu flap wheel done the biz for me.

Plus the 300's windows are a lot less curved so it's win win in that area too.

That price was heavily discounted from a mate who works in that business. I can get more, but seeing as you aren't local it would be a bit much to ask of Parcel 2 Go send anything for a tenner service so would cost a bomb to send.

Ah yeah, unsure how thick the 300's windows are but if you could get away with 3mm then it's something like £32 per sheet plus VAT

eBay sell it too, but only in small sizes (A3) usually, you can get it in larger sizes, so I suppose you could get rough windows sizes and order it there or locally. If i can help you out mate I will, as the lad who sorted me out works for a company with a few depot's across the country.

Been pre-occupied with my Volvo (fancy that - on a 300 forum lol) and in a general CBA mood as far as the internet and Nissan W.I.P are concerned of late.

I did intend to name this 'Project as and when' lol. I should have.


Anyway, been plodding on. New front panel is on fitted (made a mess of the previous when fitting JDM lights - bodyshop was supposed to sort...)

A mate came over and gave me some much needed help in clamping it in place/measuring etc. It was fitted to the dimensions
as quoted in the Nissan workshop manual and I had previoulsty scribed around certain areas of the original panel before removal so it should fit fine.

Decided I wanted to have a bolt in slam panel for engine bay access - also comes in handy when climbing in/out of the bay lol.

I then turned my attention to adapting the Citroen ZX wiper motor to fit in the Primeras scuttle. The original motor mounts to the outside, but I want a proper single wiper.

Drilled out this plate and was hoping it would be hollow or flat underneath but it was identical so cut it up so I could bend it straight (temp to be replaced with new plate)


Cut the bracket down but it was too big still. Too much travel in the linkages. So in the bin with that one.

Second time lucky, got a Citroen AX motor/arm from the srapyard as the bracket is slightly smaller than the ZX one and it also has linkages so is adabtable unlike a Fiat Uno one.

A bit of trimming to the top of the scuttle where the original passenger side wiper arm bolted in and the AX setup fits. It's a very tight fit and has to be assembled inside
of the scuttle.


Hole drilled through the front of the scuttle to secure it in the original Citroen place and I welded an angled steel bracket to the inside of the scuttle to allow the second
original bolting place to be used.


All fits, and sweeps the entire screen without having to mess about with the linkages. It's a very tight fit, but nothing fouls. Just need to weld in a section of plate to tidy the
surrounding area now (tin snips in situ lol)


Finally found a Supertouring spoiler also. It's from a BTCC Mondeo (1998 according to part number). Genuine Ford Motorsport part that produces downforce when fitted correctly.
£20 on eBay and only in Whitley Bay lol (Cheers for taking me through Naylor). It is identical to one I was interested in buying from xtrmjks, that he ran on his 300.



I'm not entirely sold on the way it looks, too curvy and 'thick' for what I wanted, but will do for now. Gave it a quick dust of satin black to improve the looks a bit so I can get more
of an idea now I've fitted it to the car.





The feet are curved on the base. I'm not sure if this is so the angle can be adjusted because AFAIK the Mondeo had a flat boot lid?

Tonight I dug out my JDM headlights and adapted the front panel so they fit.

Original UK lights


A few well placed holes needed and the lamps are in.

The Early Learning Centre wires are from the two 5000K HID kits. Ghey. Lol.



The corner/sidelights are more complicated, as they have two
bulb holders as opposed to the one of the original UK lights so I need to enlarge the hole but want it neat. I decided to remove the sidelight connector and cut the bracket off
the back of the light so I do not need to make yet another hole, the panel will need attacking with a file and the the corner light will slide in. I will extend the wiring for the sidelights and bring it through the front panel.




My hand was killing so I wrapped in for
the night.

Somehow last night I managed to topple the c02 bottle for the MiG and it was going to fall right on my (brand new) SR20 engine. So i attempted to break its fall.
It worked - kind of, the bottle missed the engine and hit the floor. For my troubles I have strained muscles and sprained my wrist like never before lol.
This has taken me about 40 minutes to type, as for the next few days I am pretty much one handed lol and it wouldn't work when I tried to post it last night!
