I think we can attack one or other of them with an angle grinder, especially if the filthy one is coming to help! :)

The GLS springs should work well for double-leafing. I don't think Hugh used GLT springs for either of his.

The S70 had a whole new engine, Andy. It's back in action as of last night, but I need to replace the PAS pump...AGAIN! The 960 one currently fitted is still noisy (although not as bad), but more importantly it has a slightly different pulley, which pulls the belt out of line on one of the idlers, and undoubtedly contributed to the failure. I'm off out in a moment to attack those pulleys...:)

cheers

James

Is there a fuel tank going?

Jony and Garth....you realise these are both 360s, so both the prop and fuel tank are different to the ones in 340s?

I will be parting my 1.4 "Nessy" out sometime later in the summer, so we have that option...

surely the prop should be the same ?

In a word, no ;)

340s share a prop, whether 1.4 or 1.7. 360s have a rigid steel prop encased in a torque tube, which braces the gearbox against the engine...to stop it twisting under load. The gearboxes, although basically the same, have a different input shaft plate, and mount to the car body differently.
