haha we've all been there speedy, i usually do the odd wheelspin here and there (latest one was about half hour ago out of a maccyDs carpark, then again i was egged on by my mate haha) and had the odd spin out on a roundabout while friends were following me, mind this was rather late; 10ish so there was only us on the road but i do sometimes drive in anger through town centres but i try to keep that a minimum. at the end of the day, we're only young ey, still learning

I'm not that old, but still I have no idea what I was doing (aside having angst against everything) during that time, I guess that I must been in a school and probably was just making mess about every class I participated to, oh and now I remember that I did own a moped and stupid cars were always on my way, also I did drove farm machinery and some lorry back then. I remember doing burnout with tractor more than once...

Around 2004 I remember how some stupid van dude stole MY parking spot, where I was reversing to, I really had to put stripes on road because I was soo annoyed, really stupid as there was market or some happening and lot of people walking mindlessly between cars too, surely made again really lot of bad PR, but I guess I was still rather stupid back then even my head did work lot better those days.

It is quite well possible to get person killed/injured for life with a car, when things go bad even seamingly tiny bump can have serious consequences, there is chaos theory that can shed some light why it is so, but I think it is better just to accept that human being is not too well made for ragdoll testing.

We may be old farts that have no idea about anything, but there was time we were looking our place in a world and learning what actually is causality in bigger picture. Most probably agree that there were pain in process at least in some scale.

But it can be that only way to figure things out is to experience them.

One of misconcepts of life around young person is that young person would be center, it is true cruelity when at some point of life one notices that there are no center, there are just the crowd and causality.

Finding out that one is one part of crowd of 6 billion or so is a start, then one learns that others are no obstacles that should move out of MY way, get out of MY road.

It took me over 30 years, don't know if some figure it out sooner, but to understand that it gives quite a lot more perspective to own actions and also opinions.

To have loud exhaust for scaring people out of way is one good example from how I used to think too when younger.

Two to five people need to be scared off so that I can do what I wan't on MY road. This means irritating few hundred of average Joe's and Mary's with loud exhaust in situations where there is even no need to. These few hundred then get annoyed to all car enthusiasts, some even anything related to cars, they demand action, they see some drift on THEIR street, which overflows their cup, so they come accross a green movement that aims to limit car usage and with moments of fun there I create many hurdles to my hobby.

Have done that for sure, I have used horn, I have raced on road just so that that one could not overtake ME on MY road.

I laugh these days to stupidity of myself, but right after I cry from what bad those small moments have caused for years and I have not even seen the bad that I have caused, but so it is, what you can't see you think there is none, even it still is.

This is just to encourage young ones to be better than old farts, however choice is always up to person itself, some live whole life the way they live when young, it probably is no any worse, but because of causality there always is something that follows.

Ian did forgot kids running after their football, damn once it was close, did run straight to front of car between parked cars, I don't know how I could avoid hitting him, but I guess was lucky, simply just saw something flash, those are things that just will happen.

One good point with driving like grandma on public street is that if something happen nobody blames you, no matter how poorly you did react, yeah, I'm still bit selfish, but I'm working on it

Anyway, I hope nobody is taking my word as truth or something, just some lousy opinions really, however I do encourage everyone to read a bit about scientific thinking process, it is given way too little weight on education, imo. However it gives really great benefits, there is one guide, haven't really looked into this one, as I have read mostly one put out by finnish association encouraging to skeptical thinking, which is pretty much similar, science is about being skeptical and such.

Actually none of these are true. There are limitations but not complete ban for welding suspension parts.

Cutting springs is legal and also fitting blocks lowering is completely legal. Different thing with new car's which require E approved parts.

I know several that have had fail on MOT because of springs were cut, with lowering blocks there was case where MOT station required proof of rigidity or something like that, so no illegal if you have all the paperwork.

Maybe I should have said illegal/made very difficult unless you happen to have good relations to some engineer that can make life easier.

well actually
- i was driving really slow because the roundabout is very slippery and i had bad tyres on... spinning at about 2200 rpm in 2nd
- i also had a clear view to any car or pedestrian near me or that could even get close to me
- actually its a trade school. so most of the kids are atleast 17 or 18 and are intelligent enough not to jump into a car
- i was able to stop the car within time. because i was really slower than i would have been when taking the roundabout without oversteer

so please dont think im trying to kill anyone with my driving style...

Just to have moment of fun results in all of these lot of bad things, even locations looks to have plenty of room, it is not necessarily so, key to continue have fun is to pick location properly, public street hardly is such a place.

Once I was having fun on really quiet country road, speed limit is 80kph on those, road was very icy, there were lot of jumps (crests steep enough to have car jump when doing 100kph or so), so I do only around 80kph on one crest as I knew there would be tight turn after it, when car lightens up and I start to see over crest there are two people walking side by side on my side of road and there is car coming from opposite direction, naturally it was dark time so I only saw lights of other car and reflectors of pedestrians, as car was lightened up because of crest I really had not much I could do, with rather large sliding and pedestrians running I managed to avoid them, missed entry angle to turn quite badly as there was that car which I did not know if it would be tractor, lorry or car and if it would be driving middle of road as they usually drive, but somehow I did fit just past that car, it was normal passenger car and it did drove at middle of road, however because of my messed up entry I was all over the road for rest of that turn, which typically links to other turn, eventually I did manage to bring speed down and even stayed on road even there was snow flying at several places.
Damn I was angry to idiots that walk on dark road and those that can't drive and are afraid of sides of road so they drive at middle of road, it really did not occur to me that there might been some errors on my desire to have fun on public road that had as good grip as there is on skating ground. Now I think that I surely were idiot, dangering others for just because wanted to have fun for few moments right there on that spot, even there would been places even designed for such activity very near.

It is not that others should adapt to your driving on public road, that is something which will never happen and there will not be any good coming from it, it is more like you have to adapt to situations on road and be ready for unexcepted, that way things will work out.

Having fun usually is dangerous, that is what I have found, reason is of course that fun is demanded instatly without plan and such, so risks are high, even fun with some delay could still be really lot of fun however with delay there would come a plan and risk management, which are needed if it is wanted not to be dangerous.

Here 6 people did die last year in single crash, passenger car ignored stop sign and drove under lorry, lorry drove 88kph instead of 60kph which was a limit, lorry driver did not wanted to slow down as it was only intersection area with lower speed limit, passenger car driver probably thought that he would make it as there was 60kph limit, having been up all night partying probably wanted to get home tiny bit quicker. Such disaster only because nobody were stopping to think, just acted based how they felt. That is true danger, having your emotional side to fog out rational thinking, often many risks go then unnoticed and sometimes there are not enough luck.

Now lorry driver faces court, he is charged from causing 6 deaths, who knows what will eventually be his sentence. Sad thing is if he would crashed at 60kph and all those 6 persons still would of died, then he would not be charged causing their deaths, that is also one of the dangers if one does not play by traffic rules, for me that alone is enough reason to keep my fun off from public streets, who knows when someone runs under my car when I happened to have harmless fun and I don't like to take blame if someone else is stupid enough to run under my car. Yeah, one form of danger that too.
