zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz...................!!!!!!!!!!
The Funky was great fun, but so tiring! I was navving a 106 (one of 4 in the top 4 seeded cars...), and ended up finishing in 2nd overall, one minute behind the winners!
Marlon managed to get his Volvo to the finish in one piece, no mean feat for a complete beginner, in an un-modified car, on an event with 30 miles of unsurfaced (and often rather rough) whites.

Well done to Nick - great result, and also to Marlon who successfully got his 360 round in one piece!
Well me and my normal nav were marshalling this event, and we've decided we've really gotta hook up and start doing some events again!
So just waiting for the final few bits to come through from Dai and the 360 will get a completely revitilised front suspension. Then the brakes will be done. And then time for some 12 cars and eventually a proper all night event lter in the year.
Also got some twin 40s sat next to me, but they'll have to wait a little longer!

Been Rallying again
Headed down to Plymouth last night for the "Cornish Pasty Rally", in the Grey 205 again. We finished 5th overall & first Expert, with 2 minutes penalty (the first 3 had none)

Looks like we have a star in our ranks
Pity it's always in those French fwd things
Think me and bilbo out in July in Cumbria-it's as good a place as anywhere to get lost

I'm finally gonna get the 360 out in July. Event sorted, nav sorted, car MoT'd and taxed, go-faster bits still waiting to go on....
I suspect Nick may well be out too, in which case we'll probably get a pasting, but hey, we'll be going more sideways

Yep, this saturday

And it's even been washed and polished for it's first event!
Picked the car up today I've it's been sat in my Dad's garage for a while. After a minor water pump issue I didnt get anywhere near as much work done on it that I hoped for. Ah well. It's only 99 miles (4 of those whites) so lets hope the brakes hold out
Then in 2 weeks time it's another 12 car! Then a break when I can get a bit more work done!

I was going to try and rearrange some stuff so that it was a 3 300 12 car... but something tells me the third 300 driver might not be competing any more...

Perhaps a bit off topic - but it is rallying !
Before I became a Volvo anorak I was heavily into the other Swedish 'wheels'. (I was events sec. for the East Anglian branch of the Saab Owners Club in the mid 70s). I also rallied a Saab 96 in stages events.
'Coming in to land' at Ingham (nr.Thetford) - 1976 'Suffolk Stages'. (me in the full face).
Mechanically the car was a 'works' replica (tripple carb M series two stroke, separate lubrication, etc. etc.)
Ah! heady days.
Mac.
