Well i'm back and all i can say is 'Body roll, what body roll?'
Man that thing is awesome now.

I fitted my waterpump and that went quite well despite breaking 4 of the six bolts off in the head, luckily i could get the pump off and get them out with some grips.

Anyway back to the modding, i have fitted my lowering blocks on the rear and only tonight whilst trying to change the anti tramp bar did i find out that its rear mount is slotted. Which gives adjustment and so can be lowered. So it didnt have to be modified!!! Anyway the lower shock mounts have been modded to fit the coilovers and they are brilliant. I put them on the car and am using them purely as dampers for now. They are on setting 4 (of 28 ) and the car is fairly solid 28 would be unthinkable.

The front springs i had were from a 360 GLT and were shorter than the 340 ones and stiffer. However when i was dismantling my sruts i found that one of my springs had broken. Oh dear. This meant i had to go for the GLT springs anyway. But after spending ages putting them on the struts and putting my car back together it mad the front look like it was going to take off, although the front was stiffer. So off they came again and i figured as i have been driving around on a broken spring for so much time cutting the GLT ones down should be ok. So i cut one complete coli off so the end finished level. This resulted in a lowered front and a stiffer spring so job done.
Cheers Adam
These are the only pics i have so far i will ake some beeter ones 2moro!!

Comparison of springs and the 340 one on the right has half a coil broken off too!!!!

Looking good mate, any chance of getting the ride height at the rear? I'm in two minds now as to how many coils to chop off the fronts (with my engine being heavier), you not tempted to take another off yours?
cheers

Well at least you wouldn't need spring compressors anymore :P can you let me know if you work out a way of clamping the springs in place because i'll definately be going that route, just a pain that it'll be trial and error cutting them down coil at a time :(
cheers

I don't think he has actually I think 300 is the lowest you can go without needing to clamp the springs, im currently at 340mm front and 320mm rear and just been out for a look it looks like the rear can go more as the arch is empty but the front doesnt look like there's much room before it'll scrub the arch lining inside, I can make the blocks in 20mm intervals so don't know whether to make 20mm blocks or 40mm which would basically put the wheel just inside the arch :?
I know what you mean about the standard springs, i've got the glt ones on my 340 and its like a monster truck!
cheers

Vicky's springs are clamped to stop them falling out when the car lifts off the ground. When the new spax are ready there will be no need for clamping as long as the short version works!
