Don't you have already bent cages over there? Here in Norway the rally shop`s sell already bent pipes to the 360 dimensions..
And how stiff are those rear adjustable dampers you sell Dai? I Need some stiff ones..
Was at a Drift training yesterday, was hopeless with only 100bhp and those wide tires. Should had welded the diff to, but not going to that before the winter is over. It gets to understeered with a welded one in snow
But i know now better what i should do, and on my to do list is:
-More Horsepower!
-Stiffer suspension; better rear dampers, maybe do something with the leaf springs. And i may get other springs up front. And some stiffening of the chassis
-Esab Diff(Welded one)
Bahh lots to do, would be easy`er with a s13, but not as much fun
Made the Chair body for the Sparco Ultra, works brilliant:
I got sick and tired of removing sounddeadening, so i did a quick mod with the grill:
Today i have removed the front interior;
And started removing those stupid and heavy plates:
All done, with a quick layer of paint
And stuff is getting inside again:
Looking forward to see how much it all weighted, was some heavy stuff!

Good progress dude! I've removed all the passenger side sound deadening out the front of mine, gotta do the driver side (probs this weekend) now. Although unlike yourself my carpets not gonna go back in lol it's scraggy as f*ck! I also removed the spongy stuff at the front of the footwell too.
Dai I know the scaffold pole is OTT really but do you reckon it would actually do its job as a roll cage? To be honest I wouldnt be so bothered about the extra weight if I knew it was going to keep me alive in the unplanned event of me arse over tit! I've had ALOT of mixed thoughts about the cage and I REALLY dunno what to do (Sorry to hijack the thread!)
Anyway back on track. It looks fricking awsome man and I MAY be doing the same as you did with the grill (sorry for pinching hehe)

We dont have cages available for the 300 in t uk at sensible money.
The rear shocks are adjustable. Mine on half way setting a stiff enough tat you stuggle to make te back move at all by pushing down on it. If wound up the is no way it will move.

Is £300 not sensible money? That's what the Safety Devices one costs, supposedly. It's supposedly in their catelogue from when they were the OE for the cages for the rallycross cars in the 80s

What did you have to do to get the escort lowering block to fit? the ones i've seem look like the locating pin would be too big? did you modify the block or the car?

Thats no problem! Easy to make them fit, was a 5minute job to make the top "oval" on the block. Its fits like a shoe on the lower mount!

Her in Norway those cages are like 240£ and that includes all the pipes and bends..
I may be needing those shocks and some stiff springs. And poly brushes i will let you know when i have decided!
Attended another Drift "day" practice today, I used some old spike-winter tyres and it was a blast! A lot of fun, it even spun at low rpm`s in second! What i missed was a diff, butt still with a open one it works! Even my handbrake locks nicely up, using that a lot in the entry`s
But it is not a easy car to drive, its way to soft, a photographer told me he had hoped to get i shot when i 3- wheeled at a entry
Also trided some runs with the 8x13 wheels, worked sweeter today!
Hope i can find some pics for u!
After taking out all the sounddeadening at front and with two bucket the car is down to
1040kg!! And that's with me and a full tank of fuel, 960kg without me

How did you remove that spongy stuff? I tried heating it but it started burning, and that's not to optimal under the dash....
Just take my grill idea, if i don't want anybody to do as me i wouldn't put pics out

And surely someone has has probably done it before me
