If you put in a new fuse with out the tachometric relay conected the fuse is fine if you conect it using the main plug it is fine as there is no power getting to the relay through pin 5.

As soon as you take a direct feed from fuse 3 to the relay it blows after 10 seconds.

depending on what you get from the measurements i posted earlier i think that this tachometric relay is dead allready.

lucky for you guys all tachometric relays are the same, one from a 1991 340 will work aswell. this makes searching for another one way easier.

if you plan to sell, make sure we (at the dutch volvo300club) are noticed. black beauty's are getting very, very rare.

If and when i sell it would have to be in your part of the world to get the best price for it i think, not selling just yet though.

im affraid not.
I checked with the N.E connection and there a coupe going ( )
but it needs new sills. which as you know, is beyond my skills.
hes got a few more, but nothing near an mot.
all need sills at the least, some need more.
so ive spent my money on a hybrid engine for the 340.

Thanks MCHUDD just got to sort my running problem then its

new engine for the 340 sounds intresting VND tell me more

Finally is working as it should. 12v feed wire to pin 5 on the tachometric relay is shorting out on the body so we have disconected it and put in a new positive feed direct from the fuse box fuse 3.

just got to replace the belts when i have found some and get the body work done on the drivers side rear wing.

now it can be used so it is time for

for the belts you can order "roflex" belts at www.dafhobby.nl, don't know if they ship to the uk though..
