Hate to join the drop outs but I don't really fancy the drive down on the busiest weekend of the year to be the lone 300. If anybody else is bringing a 300 I could easily be tempted to change my mind...

Foggy was fixing the mk1 to make it, I've not heard from him so I'm guessing it was successful... Maybe...!

Errr, no.
The cyl head is toast as the spark plug hole is too badly damaged to take an insert now.
So we've had to put the old head on that came from 'Nessy', but it was crudded up and had dodgy stem seals and burnt valves so we've had to make one good head out of the two. It was about 9pm that we got it all re-assembled and decided to call it a day.

Yeah, sorry about bailing, guys. Sadly the car wasn't (and still isn't) finished. The current hold-up is the requirement for a new sump, as the insert has broken off the one in the car...plus the sump plug is stripped almost bare.
cheers

AFAIK, nobody turned up in the end apart from John with the northern lot.

Ouch. We suck this year! Can't tell you how annoyed I am that the running 300 I bought to *use* as a stop-gap is...er....not running. Grr.
cheers

I'll hopefully be back in it next season. I've made it to pretty much the square root of c*ck all this year

Was bigger then last year I think, and the track was good although I didn't go out this time, I was rather put off by the mk2 escort rolling
