Well, haven't updated this in aaaages, so time to catch up. Lots of stuff has been happening, most good, some bad.
Prop shaft fell off again
Went to retro-rides (first time, and was fantastic fun!) and ran into foggyjames, I have in car and out of car vids of his hill runs somewhere, so I'll put them up when I find them!
The coilovers finally arrived after me saving the pennies, and we got them fitted!
Oooooo
Aaaaaaaaa
Lets begin!!
Callum's head in the arch
Drilled the holes
Cut the space out fr the camber adjustment (dodgy way, I know. Tidying up is still needed).
Got them on!
aaannd naturally wound them ALL the way down. "scrape bump scrape etc" no thanks. Looks good though!
A mate found an automatic badge . . .
Managed to buy a louvre off Liam, which completes it, in my opinion!
I then went to a drift day at smeatharpe, was fantastic. (All be it very muddy)
And then comes the sadness, and the reason i've been pretty quiet as not much happened for a while.
I was devastated. Some little shit decided to kick the windscreen in. I didn't have enough money to re-tax him and buy a new windscreen, and with me and the gaf going on holiday soon, he was shut up in the garage for a good while SORN. Uni exams and coursework got in the way too.
So (oddly while I was on holiday) liam began breaking his 360. I managed to buy the windscreen and a few other bits off him for bloody good money, and arranged for speedy to hold onto the stuff until I was back from holidays. Both liam and mark are legends for their help!
Got the new screen fitted
After that it was just the normal driving around, and before I knew it, it was christmas. I bought me (him) some chavvy strobes for lulz (they were in maplins for cheaps) . . .
Which are fitted into the reverse lenses, ready for my next drift day at anglesey.
I've also been tarting bits up and cleaning up bits too, as well as making a drift trike, which I've painted in similar colours to the Volvo.
Carbon plug cover
S13 Strut brace I'm converting using the S13 mounts and a cross bar I'll make myself.
Drift trike roof rack for ultimate scene points
Removed the middle two heater outlets (never worked, and always blew cold air) and replaced them with some gauges (not wired in yet, next job).
Relocated the hazard switch to where there would have been heated seat switches? Either way it just slotted in. Had to extend the loom a bit but it worked out well!
and managed to buy a nardi wheel for cheaps, to replace my apocalyptically bent cheap ebay jobby
with a little carbon thrown in
We've been enjoying the recent snowy weather too, of course . . .
and since speedy let the cat out of the bag, I'm currently looking at adapting an RX-8 carbon prop to fit the volvo. It's the right length (near enough) so I need to make some flanges up, balance it and, well we'll see!
To finish off, a few pics of how he now stands, not much change really!
I'll try and keep up to date with everything from now on!
