Snowey was 5lab's car, who after having a couple of white cars, thought it amusing to call the minty one Snowey

Was a sweet GLT, but met a lorry overtaking a tractor on a hill

Funny, I thought it was a GLE
Just read the paint code off the data plate. It should be in the format xxx-x, where xxx is the main paint code, and the single x (or sometimes xx) is the 'special' part - if it were custom coloured, or if some models got metallic, or pearlescent paint, etc. Mine is 306-(something) - Smoke Silver.
cheers

Thanks for that! I'll have a look when I get back down to my gran's next weekend. The car seems structurally quite sound but there are lots of nasty bubbles on the sunroof panel, on the doors (nasty bits of rust going up under the window seals) and on the hatch. But first I'll have to get the noisy exhaust fixed.

Mick, you're only half way mate! My gran's 99, that's OAP for you. BTW, she likes the colour

...most of them don't work

But who needs heated seats, when the heating is always on, eh
There are lots of niggles to fix on this car, but hopefully nothing impossible. A nice project for the summer ...

Hmm, a very unique colour. Maybe it was re-sprayed early on in its life, or it was ordered with a custom colour. You should check the paint code on the plate in the engine bay and see what it says.

I've seen them in that colour before, but it's fairly unusual. Nice!
