Does it occur if you're going in a straight line? Any difference when you turn left/right? Usually if it's a wheel bearing going it'd make more of a rumble one way or the other. Sure it isn't tyres needing balancing or a wheel weight fell off?

cheers for the replies!
I know my rear wheel bearing is on the way out. It rumbles round corners. This problem has been existant since i got the car, long before the wheel bearing started making noises. Yep happens in straight line and corners, seems purely based on speed. have run 2 sets of wheels and multiple tyres, all balanced etc. problem has been constant throughout.
Quick flick through the haynes and i think i should check the 'steering gear' which might be loose?
It does feel quite wierd the steering, always thourght it was normal for a 300, like you turn in, then the body follows? or like the steering changes mid corner?
I'm not a mechanic and i've not driven many cars, plenty of landrovers and a few modern things, so please excuse me if i'm sounding a tad daft

Well if it drove like a landrover there would be something wrong, if it drove like a modern car, id keep it quiet
