do you have any links to these threads, as I would be really interested to see what is required to fit the 240 (dana 30) bits into a 360.

Cheers

Ah yes, remember seeing this a while ago and remember why its so off-putting just look at those bolts. One slip and they're totally rounded off!! bit too agricultural for even a farm boy like me!

Come on..how often do you actually touch those bolts? NEVER

So what if one is rounded? Just weld something to the bolt and continue on..basic procedure imho. How that little job could be worth 400GBP (price bump of Quaiffe bolt in) is beyond me.

alright alright I give in :D, was making excuses to put me off of the temptation of spending more money on my project, lol. Now just need to find me some 240 internals and a locker unit.

so to confirm, it is only the bolts that need ground down the the bare minimum, and then the casing ground for clearance, the crownwheel and pinion line up, the original drive flanges and everything else fit fine?

The Tru-Trac is the unit of choice for the 240s....good value, too. I think I'll be attacking my spare 3.36 diff this winter ;)

cheers

I believe that there were 2 types of dana30 diffs, with different mountings for the CWP. Just make sure you get the right one. (see eg turbobricks for info.difference is in the size of CWP and ratio's.)
