the redlines power starts at about 2000 (nice power at 3500)and continues to 7000 with its special cam try and go up a hill 40mph in 5th is impossible as i found out :P on my mums 700 she never changes gear (very anoying!!)
5th gear all the time it really pisses me off clonk clock ratttle rattle up a steap hill at 30, it must be damaging somthing but she dont listen.

any way i think i am going to fit a 1.8 injection system on it see if its possible etc and boost the power up to 100- 110 hp would be nice then i am totally happy then when i have lots more experiance and better handerling and brakes maybe turbo the old girl.

but i need a welder

Cheers hijackers :P

Totally happy... that'll never happen ;) Just like I thought I'd finished my car 3 years ago!

Head swap should be easy enough, just watch for the changing compression ratios and piston shapes can't remeber which 400's have the different pistons, or are you doing a complete engine swap?

Intrigued to have a look at any markings on this cam...!!

just head i hope, i would like to see this cam too but i am not doing any thing till i get all the bits ready + reseach

i hope it will finish, will it never end!!

amr i thought i got the tinkering bug early for 300's but maybe its not come as quick a most

pettaw: im used to having eff-all torque. i drive my mums 1.2 punto and i have to rag the tits off it to get anywhere. im sure the 360 with a k cam cant be worse than that car.

germ: no still no car  . im just waiting on pete to get it sorted so i can crash it  . itb's would sound very nice indeed and i bought a copy of 'honda tuning magazine' from the states a couple of years ago and it shows you how to make a diy itb setup using bike throttle bodies, so i'll have a go with the volvo if i can :P .

Chris_C wrote:Other problem is if you don't have much experience, a K cam will make driving more difficult. It shifts the power band, and there really is NOTHING below 2500 compared to a less hot cam.
Cured that with programmable ignition, loads of torque from idle, defineatly same or more as with stock cam below 2000, but after 3000 heavens will open and K does it's trick and that difference will make your arse feel like it would be missing something at low end ;)

K-cam is not yet really a sport cam, compared to many other engines that starts to be something normal, it revs normally and acts like an engine after change, of course you need programmable fuel injection and ignition for this as stock systems are just not designed for such.

Can't believe power going to 7k in redline, must see power curve, it may feel such, but in reality it may deliver power already at 6k.

I wanna see that too, as my 1.7 falls off very quickly past 4500. This was on the weber, the latest plot is at home (and it looks like my old uni account has finally died, try uploading it somewhere else... there we go)

http://www.chriscardwell.co.uk/gallery2 ... ewsIndex=1

That as I said is on a weber replacement after gas testing, stock everything else. The numbers I reckon are generous to say the least (I had something out when I did that one), but you can at least see the shape of the torque curve.

wierd..but i have that paper thats says its got a different cam etc i went to 7000 in 3 rd it still seemed to pull but not as much as 6000 but there was still somthing, speed incresed (no i wasnt going down hill)

imfact..thinking about it it dyed right out at 7000 i guess i am being stupid

but 6500 was very good when it hit there didnt really look after that :(

consentrating too hard on road.

I know you have that bit of paper that's why I'm interested ;)

Any good with a soldering iron germ? Four blobs of solder, and you too can play http://www.volvo300mania.com/forum-uk/v ... .php?t=952 :D

I did change the resistor values, can't remember what too, but it's pretty simple to do!
