Re: C208 CTR *PIC HEAVY* UD 19/06/09 Wheel refurb

Post by 340GLT »

Well the comps were only a temp measure until the cars proper wheels were refurbed, so got on that tonight and last night. Pretty sure they are going to suit it to a tee. Anyway lots of refurb pics to come. Enjoy.

Fitted new wheels today look lovely with brand new Yokohama Parada tyres. Fitted some auto bumper vents in the front too.

That looks great on those wheels. Really impressive how quick this whole project has been, real inspiration for me to get mine done.

Brilliant! I like how even the cardboard you're painting them on is Volvo branded!
Is it possible to remove tyres from rims without special tools/taking them to a garage?

If you want to reuse the tyres then not easy with modern wheels if you dont need the tyres then cut them off. Most tyre places charge around £3 a wheel to remove tyre and dispose of it.

Oh bollocks... I completely forgot you promised me a test drive.... :(

Wheels looks ace mate! How does it handle compared to when it's on the comps? Surely the track is narrower on these?
I voted no to the spoiler btw. I'd rather see you remove the rear wiper motor. Keep it clean!

I voted yes, but it was a hard one, as i really like the no-spoiler look as its different, but the mk3 spoiler does really transform the look of the car.

Certainly requires spoiler... way too much flat unbroken space without. Great job on those wheels mate, they look superb in the metal.

Re: C208 CTR *PIC HEAVY* UD 26/08/09 New Front brakes

Post by 340GLT »

I finally got round to fitting a rear seat to the car last week before the RR Gathering so here is pics of the rear seat in cleaning phase.
I also got round to replacing the front brakes today as the old ones were well and trully Fubar!!! I had been putting it off due to the machining and redrilling needed to fit my custom disk setup. Although glad its all done. The last pic shows how well the impreza calipers are matched to the Golf G60 disks.
