Yeah - there's still 5-6mm of tread! It's perfectly well behaved in the dry, but once it gets properly wet, the tyres just turn to teflon! Possibly reducing the amount of lead-right-foot might help mind you

Is your diff welded?
If so how, if at all, does it affect the day to day handling / driveability of the car?

Yeah it is welded, in the dry you really won't get the car unstuck and once you're about 10mph you won't even notice you've got it. Only disadvantage is that I'm getting a lot of tyre sqeal when the inside wheel scrubs in the dry but that only seems to be at medium 1st gear speed (not when parking just pulling out of junctions). Also it catches you out when parking as when you let off the accelerator with any kind of steering lock on the car just stops as the resistance is so high.
In the wet there's also more grip than I expected, you can corner as sensible speeds and its fine, when you do overspeed into a corner its not like the tail just snaps away either, you start to feel the car just turning itself and never need to countersteer. Then when you actually try and give it a clutck kick etc, the tail predictably goes flying out and stays there as long as you keep your foot on the gas.
I'd happily use the car for a daily driver round here but I wouldn't like to have it as my daily driver for when i'm at uni as Birmingham is always littered with cops and in the dry the tyre sqealing will just attract attention!

Got any pics of the welded up internals? know i have seen some on here before. I've asked a few places to weld up my old diff but noone wants to do it, i'm considering doing it myself.

Nah afraid I haven't as I was in a rush when doing it and can't really take it apart again as its about £5 for the oil to refill it lol, its fairly simple to do, just leave it to drain for ages, get some rag in there to clean out the majority of the oil thats left and the welder will burn any oil thats left off. I didn't put a plate in mine which possibly I should have but I made some nice welds holding the gears together and then filled between the gears and the central spindle thing.

After watching the video of my car drifting I decided it was a bad idea having dark wheels as it makes it really hard to see the angle of the front wheels so got started today with a £2.25 spray can! Just need to wait for the paint to dry, laquer them up and then get them on the car later today hopefully....

That makes quite some contrast
But certainly helps to see wheel angles from video, that was reason why I had white dials, so that I could spot speed from video
