sold the GTi rep today to the second person who saw it for the full asking price (The first guy "wanted to think about it " ).

the guy who bought it travelled all the way over from Swansea in South Wales for it , mad or what lol
still getting phone calls for it , autotrader is your friend !!!!!

I agree actually, Mick. Although it's great having you on the forum, I'm really not interested in your Golfs. There are plenty of VW groups out there who will adore Britney and her friends. But we like proper cars here

No way Germ, Mick is a friend of all of ours. The Jokes thread if it hadn't had been locked by Foggy, would have been locked by me, although I think I would have deleted some of it. This is a family forum, and that isn't suitable.

As to winding up of the Golfs, thats mostly banter, as it has been for a while. A few of us know each other quite well, and generally take the mick (mind the pun) out of each other over lots of things.

However, when I see someone saying how good Redlines are, I usually have to add the word... erm, why!?!

(There goes a hornets nest!!) I'll put in a starter for ten, they are good for nicking the interior...

I love a good mk2 Golf myself (although we all know that 300s > Golfs), although it has to be a nice 'big bumper' GTI 16v for me...

o.k. this will not be a rant but the manatee wishes to talk

sorry if talking about other cars (or my jokes )has offended anyone here ,

certainly wasn't intended ,

the simple answer is if someone starts a thread your not interested in

DONT OPEN IT

the joke thread was clearly marked over 18 and as far as I am aware the only youngun to show any interest in the 300's is my own daughter
and at 9 she is old enough to know what over 18 means and not to look

(its called good parenting ) .

I have (due to comments made on the joke thread) deleted all of my rude jokes and Vickys

Its funny that nobody objected until Vicky posted her jokes lol

all mine were nicked (apart from the Freddy Mercury /Bernard Matthews one ) from the mk2 dub club forum

( maybe golf owners are a bit more broad minded )

as far as talking about other cars than 300's is concerned

where do's it end ,

Stavros has recently posted pictures of his gorgeous cossie and his other cars

Carl often talks about his BX's

Pete even mentions his bedford midivan now and again

and like me Rupert dosen't even have a 300 anymore

oh shoot me for posting a picture of a dacia the other day lol

it even puts the " what cars have you previously owned "thread in jepardy (is that how you spell it Dekay ?)

and no Rupert golfs are not made by volvo just as 300's are not made by volkswagen ( if they were the 300's wouldent rust so badly ) but its interesting that there quite a few common things on both cars , rear light seals and other forms of water ingress, wheel compatability etc

I have already offered to hand over my moderatorship when I sold the Redline.

I have made a lot of friends ( and I know who they are )here and have no wish to leave them behind because I no longer own a 300 ,

I think this forum in many ways has grown beyond just the car itself.

I will not mention names here but you would be surprised just how many p.m's I have had regarding the golfs (lots of closet vw fans out there )
including enquiries about buying them (shock horror ) .

lets face it ,the 300 ,lovely as it is isn't the best looking, the fastest ,or most reliable car in the world.
( and I certainly wouldent make £300.00 - £400.00 a time selling them on )

its only real redeeming factors are its rwd, its cheap its quirkyness and charecter .

this forum has always been about daring to be different long may it stay that way.

(anybody wanna buy a golf lol )

the wheels I had on the redline were not real BBS, they were from a vauxhall they were fitted to nova , astra and cavalier iirc and yes they were 14's
