hi. i have been offered a 200sx for good money so my 340 may be up for sale.

me and my girlfriend have been learning to drift in it for the last year, and recently completed a 1.7 turbo conversion using the b18ft engine from a 67k 480.

the engine is running standard managment with uprated fuel pump (little noisy) 3"down pipe and straight through exhaust. it has a welded diff. land rover rear shocks and has been lowered 2". It has new front lower ball joints of which one needs fitting. (i will try to fit it before it is sold)

It also comes with several spare wheels and tyres and a few spare parts etc.

the car runs and boosts up really well, but it could do with a few finishing touches. one major one is the exhast manifold. i had to make a custom manifold from the original N/A manifold, as a result it produces a high pitched squeal somtimes on idle and when revving. However it doesn't affect the performance, its just a tad annoying. the speedo is not working typical 340, and i currently do not have the V5 but will be sending off for it later this week so if you are intrested i can have it registered with the turbo engine or with the standard engine. obviously your choice. it was taken off the road to do the conversion and therfore has no tax or test but it has been driven and drifted on track.


if i cant sell it i will be breaking it for parts. of which i will be selling the engine conversion off as a whole with erverything that is needed. but a new proffesionally made manifold would be reccomended.

Hi mate sorry to be a pain but do you have any more pics of the engine bay, as i am droppin a 440 turbo lump in mine at the moment ad just would like to see where you have ran things in yours!

il try get hold of some for you its not the tidiest of installs but seems to work well lol. i used the second electric pump to the turbo's water feed but i know of people blanking the water feeds off. i also used random pipe work to save costs.

here is pictures of the pipe work.

the coolant hoses going to the heater matrix and to the turbo feed were the trickest. the ones from the block to the rad and to the thermostate are the original hoses. boost pipes are all custom but due to the intercooler i used and where i mounted it, they are fairly straight forward. the electric water pump i installed on a switch to save messing around with relays.





the long black pipe in the picture above goes from the induction pipe to the idle control. had a few problems with this as it is best to use hard piping to stop the pipe getting piched or bent. and as said in the first post the exhaust manifold might not look to good but works well and i had a quote of £200 to get one made to that design if i supplied the plates.


this one you can see the boost solinoid and the induction pipe. bellow that is the compressed air feed to the intercooler


this is the electronic pump. i mounted it on the bell housing although it is a little close to the down pipe so some heat rap could be used.


the inlet has to be modified as you may know. i did away with the re-cerc dump valve and made it dump to atmosphere hense the lovely green pipework lol. and another problem was the throttle cable due to how i mounted the throttle body. but i used the bracket shown in the picture and modified the foot peddle to give full throttle. the vacuum pipe on the side of the throttle body goes to the dump valve


the large pipe in the top of the photo goes to the brake servo. and the large pipe at the front is standard to the idle control. the three vacuum pipes one goes to the fuel pressure regulator one to the ecu and the other goes to the idle control.

i know it looks a little messy but as said we only used it for drifting so we just wanted it to work. it can all be made neat and tidy with a few spare hours.

may be breaking for parts now. would like to sell the shell complete with running gear and the engine will be complete with ecu and turbo downpipe and wiring loom. i will be keeping the boost pipes and intercooler if it sold for parts. rolling shell will be 150ono and i would like 300 for the engine etc.

engine is now sold just the rollng shell left. if anyone wants any parts let me know but the whole shell is £150 still waiting for the v5. might be gd for a re shell as the only bad bit of rust is on the drivers door everthing else is mint. has a few dents and scratches but it was a drift car

might be good for someone thinking of doing a 16valver swap?
