Top Gear..

Post by Tom »

I found this posted on their stupid 'six word reviews' page re the 300 series..
"Drives like trampoline, corners like jelly"
Matthew Fox

Right, first off, mate, the last I knew, trampolines aren't driveable, so how any car can drive like one is quite a mystery to me. And what exactly was he getting at when he likened the drive to a trampoline? I mean, how the hell can you compare jumping on a trampoline to driving a car? Sounds like a typical TG viewer to me. And if it cornered like jelly, it'd probably wobble around a LOT and fall apart/end up smeared all over the road.

Clarkson-influenced wankers.

I watch top gear, and love it...
....and Clarkson's 300 hating just motivates me to make a kick-ass fast one, then to take him for a spin in it :)

I guess there's a fair chance Mr Fox has never driven one. Anyway, there's more to good handling than body roll, as a Lotus Elise once found out...

cheers

I prefer 5th gear, Mr Clarckson's style is not for me, Tiff Needle is much better driver and that is no1 reason why 5th gear, 2nd reason is Vicki of course ;)

I do have powercurve's of Elise and I think that I will have same power at summer, so it is gears and suspension where work is needed, perhaps little weight off too. But I don't know if it is possible to make 360 to handle better than Elise as that car has some top level suspension stuff and Elise stops quite well too, perhaps seven could outbrake Elise, but I doubt that it will be very close.

Too bad that seven is not suitable for winter driving, could be very good choice for next car. Price is pretty high too for me.

Naturally, in the hands of a skilled driver an Elise would whup a 360...but this rich prat found a 360 crawling all over the back of him in the corners, despite the obvious disadvantage!

cheers

It must corner like frozen jelly. i went in my 1st khana-X today, It was cornering quite fine, even with the bumps and dips.

Verry fun, i will make sure i have CHARGED batteries for the video camera for next one at the end of the month, it was my first time so i went a bit cautious on the 1st course, but did pretty good on the following 3 courses, not podium quality, as there was other modifed cars in my catagory i didnt stand a chance against. Anyway i just mucked around on the last course, i couldnt have been any more sideways if i tried, much to the amusement of the audience... well those that could see through all the dust that got thrown up anyway

PS: we need a smiley of a volvo smoking it up so i can put one at the end of this post. :)

You probably have those channels better than me living in a sheltered part of sunny England!! If I want to see Mr Fox or Clarkson and the boys slagging off my pride and joy I have to rely on good old Sky

go to bittorrent.com and get the client - then when you click on the 'torrent' it will download the file for you :)

the site will probably be updated soon - it used to have all of the last 3 series of top/5th gear on it
