No, the cover might. I used to run a fiat croma centre plate with a 16V cover plate. Or run a 16V cover on a 1.7 friction plate.

so am i right in thinking that none of the 5 clutch will fit.
is it something to do with the splines lining up? or is it just to large for the housing.

if you can mate a 1.4 flywheel to the F7R it will fit; you will have to figure out what to do with the BDP sensor though and probably won't be worth the trouble.

in other words; no straight fit. spline's match but the clutch is a fair bit smaller.

you could contact Sachs performance clutches to see what they have in stock. i was hugely surprised when i found out they hold a 340 1.4 paddle clutch in stock!!!

this is for my f7r conversion.
i seem to remember someone on here having one, cant remember if they ranit or not.

the splines are the same, thats a start.

i have a 1.7 bellhousing connected to a f7r megane bottom end, so i presume a mrgane flywheel also.

the clutch in question i am trying to install is an uprated renault 5 paddle item. rated at over 300bhp. so i am keen to see if i can get it to mate up.

lovely, just out of curiosity, does anyone know what the size difference is between the r5 clutch and the 1.7 clutch.

as this is beign advertised as an upgrade for the f7r engines, so i am lead to believe it would fit mine?

Upgrade for a standard F7R makes me think the splines might not match up :( My clutch has only slipped once, which was at the Pod. I know the R5 guys run 480T clutches as an uprate, I've got a 480T pressure plate (in theory it's got a higher clamping force) with 1.7 340 friction in my turbo, I think I may have to do the same on my F7R eventually

the flywheel is 7bolt on both the 1.4 and 1.7, diameter is definatly different as it the pressure plate's shape

so i don't think you can mate a 1.4 pressure plate to a 1.7 flywheel

though the 7bolt flywheel is the same for 1.4 and 1.7, i also believe they have a different pcd
