360 engine

Hi all, I think my volvo 360 gls 1983 2L is finally giving up on me. we are having awful trouble with ignition timing and pinking and not starting first time and then running all day. depending what we tweek either she runs and doesnt start or starts and is awful running!!! think I have to look into swapping the engine now incl carb etc completely. Any ideas welcome!!! we tried cooler spark plugs too but put original ones back in to try and get her running better again, my mechanic (dad!) is at the end of his tether with her now and is threatening to give up which is a huge shame as she has been in the family since almost new and I inherited her from my grandad. Help me please!!!!!!

Hi mate, I may have what you need (in a couple of weeks) I am currently in the process of stripping a B230FT from a 940 to replace the B19(E?) in my 1984 360 GLS, it will be the same engine as yours?

I have no plans for it, and was going to stick it on here for sale I guess. It's done less that 70K and never fails to fire up first time.
