I bet mine probably has the shabbiest paint work! Lovely faded red, hmm beautiful - kinda goes with the slight rust patch through the front nearside of the bonnet where it was sitting unused for months at one point.

Oh don't worry, you aren't the only one having problems with the red paint work, you'll meet people here with a PINK paint work (it was supposed to be red before lol)

Parts of mine are pinkish, the best part is the boot, I think it may have even been replaced when my Gran owned it.
Can it be restored atall to well something better!? Oh and I have a few other small problems...
- There are two places the lever sits in reverse, the top one is fine, but slightly lower down it can sit, and if you try that - you get a nasty ish noise and the car doesnt move - so my brother warned me when he gave it to me!
Does yours have that problem/is that common atall?
- and Well, i've forgotten the other thing!
I'm quite happy with the car

- and that all I paid is for its latest MOT and TAX for the year... and of course insurance and petrol

Excellent - I`ve been feeling a bit lonely on here with my CVT!
BTW Vario does your selector beep and flash at you when you select drive? If not there is a connector that often comes off the microswitch at the base of the gear lever (brown wire - pull off carpet on tunnel on Pass. side to access - you`ll need some needle nosed pliers or slim girly hands to get it on).
Usually comes off if you leave it in Park. This also controls the declutching servo and can make it hard to select drive or reverse if it is disconnected, as well as not warning you when the lever is not correctly positioned. Failing that, linkage may be worn

Yeh I get the old beeping and flashing - although it can be annoying... I'm sure i'll get use to it.
Cheers anyhow

Oh!
You have te same problem as on my 340 vario since the variomatic has been changed...
When I move from D to R, I can hear a HORRIBLE noise because the transmission isn't good in place...
But if I go close to the P position and then come back to the R, there is no problem...
It's a quite common problem, the adjustment is bad.
