hi everyone, sorry if this isnt to peoples taste , but im planning when i get my car to purchase these wheels which are £595, bit steep but im going to look for other places to see if it will be cheaper.
these wheels are 205/40/17, i hope someone will say they will fit because they had 0 300 series alloys so i looked at the 400 series and got these .
Those would look great on a 300, as they are 400 fitment they should be a straight bolt on fit, but you might have clearance problems, most likely around the front shock, and the inner and outer arches the only way to know for sure is to try them!
hmmmm, they did 15 inch wheels aswell and the tyres for them were 195/50/15, would they look still large because im looking to try and keep the tyre sidewall height pretty low
I'd personally say that 15s look perfect on the 300 series, 17s look a bit too big really and really wont help the handling. Also you'd have to use low profile tyres which would be damn expensive and affect the ride quality to a negative effect.
I've heard that low profile tires make terrible noise on the higher speeds.
I still have 4 glt alloys laying around in the garage, 2 tires need replacing though. Will they really make a difference in handling compared with the 13 inches a got right now? May be investing in some new tires will be a good idea then....

"Terrible noise" depends on the kind of tyre you choose (and of course, the brand), and of the kind of road you are on.
ZOAB for example (Zeer Open Asfalt Beton, for our English friends that would be like "Very Open Asphalt-concrete, which is commonly used here 'cause it quite easily drains off rain after bad weather, and it freezes less easily than simple asphalt) produces far more noise, no matter what tires you're on, than the asphalt you drive on in the suburbs or so.
My 850 runs on U****yal Rainsports (geen reclame!) 215/40, on 17" rims.
At high speeds, that is, >140 km/h you can hear them, but they produce very little noise. At speeds of over 180 km/h they produce more noise than the engine and wind do, but in our country you shouldn't even think of driving that fast.
Added tho that, low-profile tyres give far better road-handling, though I must admit that my 17 inch rims are a little less comfortable than the 15 inch I used to drive, with 195/65R15's.
I've also driven a S40 1.8i, with 17" rims on it, and M######n (geen reclame maken!) Pilot's on em, 205/?? (don't remember)R17, now that is a lousy tire for any car. Expensive, little grip, even less in rainy conditions, and noisy as hell.
At speeds over 160 km/h, noise of those tires is deafening, while the engine is doing just a little over 4000 RPM...

Hi 15's look awesome on 300's and 195 50 15's are a good low profile and suit the car. These pics are of my car with only 185 55 15's and i think even that looks good! By buying wheels with the spokes that go to the very edge of the rim, with no deep rim round the edge, they will appear bigger!! If that makes sense? This is my car anyway, see what you think!! A good set of 14's looks good on a 300. And by not going to big it keeps the speedo reeding as accurate as possible!!!

to the tyre noise side, it isnt much noise given off the tyres, my bro has a 200sx with 255/50/17 tyres and theyre pretty quiet, it depends on road surface aswell but to have nice looking wheels, wouldnt you sacrifice a tiny bit of rumbling sound, just listen to music and drown it out .
The noise thing is due to low profile tyres - note that your brother's tyres are a 50 profile, which are correct for a 195mm side tyre on a 15" rim for a 300....not a 225 on a 17" rim! The 200sx obviously has significantly larger wheels (in terms of overall diameter).
I think 16" is probably the perfect size for a 300, but I went with 15s on cost grounds, as you can get (strong) factory rims up to 15". I agree that 17s are a bit too big, especially on an otherwise stock car. Maybe if you had it very low and with a bodykit, etc...
I like the style of those rims...they're quite Volk-esque! 40 profile sounds a little tall for a 205 tyre - I think they need to be 205/35s on a 17. Look for one of the many tyre size calculators on't internet (the miata.net one being the famous one). 205s ought to be ok....but that's about the limit before surgery is required. Bear in mind that 360 GLTs have slightly lower suspension than other models, so they will rub sooner.

your right there, looked at my bros tyres and actually were 225/40/17 which is a kinda low profile i guess , sorry bout that feel a bit stupid now
