Just wondering if anyone could give us a hand. basically got a 1989 b14.4e and have blown the engine up

and was wondering what other engine will go in eg from clios or other renaults etc without messing about with loads of wiring, exhausts, fuel pumps etc? need a quick fix for it

and unfortunately there dont seem to be many 340's up here in scotland in breakers yards etc. cheers.

Where are you in Scotland exactly Gordon?
What exactly do you think you've blown up?

in glasgow. not had the head off too look but there was a terrible rattling sound then the engine stopped, removed the spark plugs to find number 4 squashed and when turning it over the contents of the radiator emptied themselves through the number 4 cylinder lol so obviously the head gasket has gone but why the rattling and squashed spark plug? also the car wasnt overheating at the time or anything.

I've got a 1.4 engine in Carlisle - would need the clutch/flywheel etc removing as it's from an auto.
Can anyone say what else is different between manual / auto engines off the top of their heads?

Maybe bits got sucked in by carb. You were playing around with it about 3 months ago?
