Its like a 3-ply tin thing.
Mine has been bodged in the past and the new system doesn't fit properly
Cheers,
Matt

Not sure if Volvo still have them but I bought a set about 4 years ago :S (guessing they're probably not now!)

I can help, if you can't find someone in the UK ... Give me a PM if you need one.
EDIT: I remember my garage saying they'd rather not fit that middle bracket when I asked them to. Something to do with tensions, non-original exhaust parts etc ...
Cheers
Tom

mounting points v.s. length i'd say you definatly want something to hold the exhaust up at that point. the downpipe is supported at the bellhousing, and besides this hanger at the end of the torquetube; the next mounting point is at the end muffler. with the mid muffler it's quite a heavy bit of metal to just leave hanging around

cheers I'll check at volvo then might get back to you tom. The centrebox is supported at the moment, its just its had a washer welded on to one of the lower holes (that line up with the centrebox) for some reason. It fitted the one that was on but the new one doesn't fit with the hole in the washer. so at the moment its held wonkey by one bolt through this part. Rear silencer is held on by 2 exhaust hangars, the 3rd keeps coming off, The garage who fitted the exhaust chucked the little wire clip
I'll take the diagram to volvo unless anyone knows a part number?
Thanks for the replies!

This bracket is a complete pain, they're very hard to remove when they're rusted up. Having the exhaust supported at that point is critical to avoiding unpleasant clearance issues with the backbox and driveshaft/spare wheel well.

20 euros postage? They're havin' a laugh. That should cost no more than about 3 Euros to send. If you have trouble finding one let me know, I have a few knocking about.
Cheers
Tom

Maybe it might be worth making a template out of the original Volvo ones? They're very common to rust up and fail... and to be honest it's only a bit of flimsy metal that could easily be remade

aye, i haven't really had a good look at one in real life but i looked in the haynes manual and its just an exhaust clamp that goes round the torque tube with another bit below to bolt onto the silencer. If anyone knows the Diameter of the torqetube then i might be able to fab something myself.
