Picked up this partscar last weekend its a Volvo 360 2 liter injection.
Good working engine and tranny just a broken propshaft. when i came at the sleesy cardealer i found her in the back coverd with plants and rusted solid brakes and the owner was nowhere to be found.. this did not look good but i already made a downpayment so i took her home.
So what is this sound.. its less worse in the video than when standing next to it, it gives me goosebumps horrible sound

you know i actually was thinking, what is that sound so i went back to check again what the box does.
Well seems when i engage the clutch the sound goes sort of away and when reving the engine it actually does not sound too bad.
Looks like the engine is okay, but i dont get why the prop should make noises when its not in gear

Sounds like a very very buggered bearing. Torque tube bearing? Also could be bell housing bearing. It will stop spinning when you engage the clutch so explains why the sound goes away then.

Also it could be some splines spinning although I'm unsure how 360 tubes are joined and where.

Boris, after reading the broken propshaft part; i think you have the problem we're actually busy with on the V3C forum atm; a broken connector piece wich connects the torque tube to the gearbox.

check these for info:
