just wondering what it takes to run bike carbs on the f7p engine, obv you need the carbs and an inlet mani fold....

maybe a longer throttle cable? not sure what else

Most of us with F7x's on here run stock injection as the knowledge is available (or because of motorsport regs etc...) John used to run them but I can't think of any other cars that do off hand. There were a few but they've changed owners so arnt on the forum anymore.

I think the standard answer to such questions is Bogg Bros, but I've never used them so can't recommend them.

Bogg brothers will make a manifold for about £175. Then you need about 10" of silicone hose and 8 jubilee clips to attach the carbs to the manifold. A 3-4psi electric fuel pump or one from an R1, mounted as close to the fuel tank as possible. 1.7 renix will run this setup just fine but mappable ignition (eg megajolt like my R1 carbed manta) will produce better power and driveability.
Throttle cable is easy, not sure if the 1.7 cable will reach but a 360 cable should. The carbs have a clamp to suit a bare cable end with no nipple on it, same as mountain bike gear cables. Choke cable is a good idea, though I only need to use my choke on initial startup, it runs fine after that.
Carbs make cars more interesting and they make an amazing noise. My 340 used to return around 30mpg with dell'orto 40s, which are around the same size as R1s but slightly less efficient.

It really is easier to do it with carbs than injection, although I hate wires so I'm biased. I'd rather have as little reliance as possible on french electronics.
