Free To Collect - 89' 340 - but there is a catch.....

Hi Everyone,

The old girl is mot'ed till December with 48'000 miles on the clock in great condition for a 22 year old (RHD - 1.7 manual), shes free to collect - but heres the catch . . . . . Shes in Spain  . So if anyone fancies a driving holiday on the continent and wants to take her home afterwards that would be great. It would be tragic to have to scrap her here as she has plenty of life left in her. Can pick anyone up from Alicante Airport transfer the V5 and shes yours to take away (dropping me off first of course). . . need to know pretty soon! Profile Pic is the car in question.

Well my quick back-of-the-fag packet calculation is around £400 to fetch it back to the south of England. Someone must be up for holiday, surely?

Heya,

How soon does it need to go? I'm hopefully moving to Portugal in September/November, but I presume you want to shift it before then!

Hi Chaps,
Im on holiday in Torrevieja at the end of the month, but I dont think the wife will go for it unless the volcano goes off and I need to drive home!
Bloody tempted though, if there are any members in Iceland who can relight the volcano on about the 13th July it would be much appreciated! :D :D

I checked flights to Alicante, but as far as I can tell there aren't any direct flights from Germany. Valencia would be easier, but that's still 250kms away from San Miguel De Salinas.

At a rough guess, it's about 250 Euros for the 2000km return journey, taking it easy on the throttle and not taking any toll roads. I'm sorely tempted, even if it is RHD ...

Cheers

Tom

Seriously, Tom what an earth are you talking about? It's going to be in the top-ten of inaccurate statements along with "It's Spain's fault"

Air Berlin? CGN-ALC?

CGN-ALC isn't direct, you have to change in Palma de Mallorca. Good advice though, you can "book it through" with Air Berlin ...

150 for the cheapest flight, 250 Euros fuel, 80 Euros temporary plates and insurance, hmmm ... I think I'll have to pass :( Pity, 1.7 3drs will be extinct before too long, for well-discussed reasons ...

PS those cucumbers had Ehec, but it was apparently the wrong type ;-)

Ahh. Odd that. I can fly direct from some small village called Dublin

Anyway, I've got other fish to fry. If it wasn't for the registration taxes, I'd be up the road buying a Xantia.
