Recent Rear shocks, re-tempered rear springs, front lower spring cups, starter motor.
New rear tyres - very little wear on front.

FOTV3 member (getting new car) wants good home for it - not a scrapyard.

I have been in touch with John - and he is a very genuine nice fella; he just wants the car to go to a good home as Mac says.

He is only selling due to not being able to look after it any more due to age etc

Being a DL model it doesn't have electric windows/power steering etc but he does say the Bodywork is in good condition! It Just needs a good polish up.

I would buy it myself if it were nearer.

Come on everybody - 120 hits and only one call to John!!

He doesn't want to scrap it - it's too good - so it's sorned - but he would rather it went to a good home

Got to be worth a punt - make an offer somebody.

As a community we need to save whats left whenever we can. (before anybody asks - yes I am restoring
a 300 and have 3 cars on the drive already)

Fair point Mac - I'm not certain of buying a different Volvo yet, so I didn't want to bother the seller and time waste - if Mac knew whether or not it was still available.

Last time I spoke to John he had parked it at the bottom of his garden on SORN - still there as far as I know.

Hi, its not for sale now as i have just bought it.
Its in pretty good nick and has only been owned by 2 other people, John being the latest and before him a Nunnery, so gods on my side.
Only fault is there are bubbles in the windscreen, plenty of them, so will be looking for a replacement if anybody knows where.

Well bought dude.
Theres usually a few breaking (cars not windscreens) so you shouldnt have much trouble.

Yes guys my `loved one` has reluctantly been driven away
I had made my mind up to keep her and bring her up to concourse condition, but when I saw it was going to a loving home, and close bye I caved in. The irony was that all of a sudden there was two asking to buy, then low and behold , after it had been driven away, a Friends Daughter saw me in my new car and asked if I would sell her the Volvo which was to be her first car. I had to tell her the bad news, but the good news is I'm happy that the new owner will have many years of enjoyable driving in safety and also be free from the modern electronic problems that the owner can't work on themselves. A friend of mine is never out of the repair garage with one of his many `sensors ` going wrong. In fact his car is in the garage yet again today with another faulty sensor
Do you know, I had not been bothered by the windscreen little bubbles, I seem to have even forgot they were there
I didn't drive the Volvo 340, I just seemed to strap it on and GO, with the knowledge that it would never let me down in any situation. Taxi drivers kept well clear knowing they would come off the worst in any of their stupid maneuvers
Thanks Mac for your assistance I'm sure the new owner will be joining the Friends Of the 300 Club because they seem to be very intelligent people
