I'm about to buy a Volvo 1.4.

I want to put a 2 litre in to replace the 1.4, i hear the williams f7r is the engine i should choose?

I'm no mechanic (far from it) i have no clue how to do anything, is this going to be an easy job or something i should pay someone mega bucks to do?

I'd really like to do it myself but what do i have to change? (apart from the engine of course!) gear box maybe? fuel pump? if you've done it or know what on earth im talking about,

get back to me, cheers!

Wu-POW!! http://www.volvo300mania.com/forum-uk/v ... 13&t=11630

My guide should help you a little bit  gearbox on the 300 series is at the back, so no need to touch that. I'd watch the prop though, as the amount of torque the F7R produces can be too much if the prop isn't in good shape. A load of us now are looking into custom props.

hope that helps! :D

Also Adam (340GLT) runs a conversion business at good prices. You'll need to drop off the car in Swansea for a few days but it's well worth it.

I'm not sure if there's enough room inside an F7R to fit a 300, not even if you squashed it up into tiny bits.

ok, serious time.. it's not hard really. But worth grabbing stuff like wiring and fuel pump from adam. It'll save you headaches

Yeah, I use Adam's sender converted pump, speed sensor and shorter loom. Works a treat! Cuts down on time and gets rid of a lot of headaches, though it's more than possible to do everything yourself (wiring, out of tank fuel pump etc).
