Heater Resistor pack

Hi

I'm looking for a heater resistor pack (see this thread: http://www.volvo300mania.com/forum-uk/v ... r+resistor) for my 1985 vario - it's getting rather cold this winter with no working fan! If anyone has a spare one to pass my way, I would be very appreciative!

I know that if I got a VW one it would be better, but I think I'd rather have a go with another Volvo one for now.

Many thanks,

SiƓn

A Christmas and New Year kind of got in the way of business-as-usual. Is a 84/85MY one the same as a 89? I look up in the VIDA in the meantime. (Something else I forgot to plunder in the scrapyard raid the other day. ) I'm sure you can last a bit longer, it's been unseasonable mild...sort of.

BTW Chris, I've still got your driveshafts, they're a few degrees further south than they were as they are in Dublin now

No probs Chris, mibbie sometime this year they'll find there way to you

I've looked up VIDA and I have two part numbers:

3207725 for the resistor on the early heater box
3210094 for the resistor on the late hearer box

Anyone know the difference off the top of their head?

Yes, I have a brand new one of both in stock.

The early part number is one I've never seen fitted, so guessing Mk1's have a different heater box? It is noticably different, I just can't remember how atm. I think it was that it didn't have the metal cage around the wire wound resistors.

Hi lads.
I seen one for sale in Germany recently and it

Cheers Mark.

I'll give you a kick now for starters.

Anyway, is it on the passenger side of the heater box in the engine bay of a Mk3? I might have time to pull one down the road.

Take the heater box, ping off all the pingy clips and the rubber top "door seal" stuff. The two halves fall apart, screw x2 frees the resistor.

Thanks Chris and Rich. The one I need definitely has a cage around the wire resistors. I haven't delved too deeply into my Mk1's heater to see the difference, but I might do when it's back on the road after its winter in hibernation and post up some pictures.

Chris, I'll PM you my address. Rich, I think you should have mine, but I'll PM it anyway.

So it's a race - which one of you can get one to me first?!?!

Is this a race like the one between me, Foggy and FilthyJohn with who can have a roadworthy turbo first?

Another wander around the web and a gander on VIDA (2010D):

3342055 "Resistor - Evaporator CH -154579" - This appears to have five terminals and for an aircon car - obsolete part.

3207725 "Resistor - Air intake CH -154579" - This appears to be caged, have 3 terminals and for a non-aircon car - obsolete part.

3210094 "Resistor - "Air intake CH 154580-" - This appears to be caged, have 4 terminals and for a non-aircon car - slim chance it might be available as it's not listed OP on VIDA 2010D.
