difference in louvre?

Post by tim-andre »

Whats the differnece between mk 1-2-3 louvre?
Got a louvre, but it does not fit mine perfectly, it also does not fit 240's, 740's, 940's, a couple of fords, including escort mk2, some bimmers, and some old opel/vauxhall's

Its to short for my window, but i gues ill glue it on or something

Hi Tim,

the main difference is that different 300s had different rear windows. Mk1 & Mk2s had the same rear hatch, here the louvre is clipped under the window seal. The same is the case for saloon cars.

MkIIIs had a larger, bonded windscreen - here you can only glue the louvre to the window itself.

Try a search on the subject of fitting:

The different louvre types:

Mk1/2 hatch

Mk3 hatch

That's OK ...

I think you can go by

Mk1/2 5 "grilles"
MkIII 6 grilles
saloon 7 grilles

Saloon and MkIII louvres are very rare, certainly worth looking after!

Cheers

Maybe it's not for a 300 after all? The Autoplas saloon louvre I sold to Mark was a KH334 and had seven horizontal bits to it:

I'm sure I have the measurements, somewhere ...
