300 now even accepted by other Volvo model owners?

I was driving through Doncaster this morning with my sister in the 340 and from a distance pointed out an Amazon coming the other way, as he passed he gave us a wave .

It's finally happened, even owners of other Volvo models are now accepting the 300 as one of them, and maybe even a classic, and that takes some doing sometimes!

Maybe loss of cool points for some of on here but I thought it was nice!

Could only be a closet 300 owner, or an early morning error.

There's still a 'ardcore out there that have some weird ideas what a "proper" Volvo is and airbrush certain cars out in a Stalin fashion. Bonkers.

does it not wear the volvo badge with pride as mine sentiently does
or they are jealous that there volvo doesnt weight under a 1000kg is rwd small light economical cool abused it pretty much every Motorsport going at one time or another the list goes on haha

Its because the car is somewhat of a Heinz 57. Designed by DAF, uses renault engines and they stuck a volvo badge on the front. Some people dont regard it as a proper volvo, others just regard it as the baby volvo from the 80's. The 'proper' volvos are the big mahoooooooosive 240/740/940's paha

I've found a lot more recognition from the VOC especially since a few of us started getting more involved with the club, I've been told by many a polisher at the BKV that the reason they didn't accept it was they didn't understand the rubber bands, so have always shy-ed away

At least some of our little dafs have a Volvo redblock inside , have correct wheel drive and date from the days when Volvo's were made from and to look like iron girders, even if they weren't 100% Volvo
