i've got some 2nd gen rear lights (might even be first gen..) to try and bodge into my 86 (3rd edition), cos i like the look better.. the fittings are all exactly the same but one of the sets i have is broken, and i need some numplate lighting things.. shame..
i like the second cause i had one... can someone explain the difference between 2nd and 3rd and the year of transition, as the im not sure if an '85 model is 2nd or third, thanks
3rd had a new nose, with wraparound bumpers, and a new tail, with newer bumpers and different lights. i believe that is all.. was either '85 or '86 it changed

@Duvel78: i thought the design of the rear lights on the first pic is the 1st generation, till makeup in '82. my 81 has these lights and small bumpers and separated nose.
