I'm now a 1st time Volvo owner! YAY!!

Post by Cliché Guevara »

Well I took the plunge and got myself a white '86/87 360 GLT 5 door 2.0i with 190000 kms
1 lady owner from new,4 new tyres, half a tank of petrol, serviced every year, and rego (NZ road tax) till december mot till may (every 6 months here) for $500 thats about £250 the road tax alone is worth about $300.Totally rust free, just need to sort the clutch out.It still drives fine you just cant be too heavy on the on the go pedal.
Made the 4 hour drive home with out missing a beat and boy is it comfy.
I'm really chuffed to bits

It seems to be running a bit rich though so any advice on how to sort that would be helpful

The vin number is XLB345253GC190235

I have asked on a different thread how many splines would my car's clutch would have, armed with the vin number could someone let me know if it is 18 or 24 please.

Hi Cliche.
Welcome to V3M. Good luck with the car.
Sounds like you have found a good one.
Where abouts in the world are you?
Cheers Mark.

Welcome aboard. 340pw

Nice price, shame about having to do a WoF every 6 months (and some folk moan about doing a MOT once a year).

300 series, 5 door, B200E/A, manual gearbox, G=1985, but VIDA says 1986?

You're right the vinplate says 86 but it was registered in 87.
As for me I'm a frenchman living in New Zealand, right at the foot of a dormant (hopefully!) volcano Mt Taranaki in the north island.

Been here for 3 years before that in the UK where R5 Gordinis were my thing.I sold one and kept a convertable at my parents place in France.

My daily driver here is a Mk2 Golf diesel turbo.

I like 80s and 70s cars cant stand modern cars, the volvo is just on my threshold for age.

Here is a link to the ad I saw.

http://www.trademe.co.nz/browse/listing ... itten=true

So is it 28 splines on the clutch?

Nothing but B200Fs make any sense as a 300-series-daily in the fatherland ...
