i've discovered something with the econometer - it makes a buzzing noise (due to the uberquick pressure changes). i'll try adding a fuel filter in-line to see if this solves the problem, but not till the end of the month, cos i'm broke :(

got Jeroens bits picked up last weekend and included in the deal was a 340 1.7 towbar with twin electrics which i will fit once its been cleaned and painted ( and I work out how ), I am still looking for an econmeter and auxillary gauge panel . I may try making an auxillary gauge panel from a cassette holder shell has any one tried this ? it looks fairly easily doable but I havent measured it up yet for the dials

I thought about butchering a cassette holder panel once, as the cassette part just slides out, then you can mount whatever square/rectangular (can't remember the size of it now!) piece in the centre. However I was outbid for it and didn't want to ruin my only one. I had originally planned to put my Mstation controller in one, but I don't think it fitted and the angle was wrong and too low. I think gauges would look a bit cramped in one personally, 52 mm would actually be a very tight fit in the current opening, so that could be expanded I suppose. One gauge and a switch panel would work well in the exisiting opening. It would look neat though, with the Volvo logos and shaping, also the way it mounts is fairly clever.

Just had a quick check........... so.........the opening is 106 mm wide by 92 mm high. I can remember looking on the internet once for the Fischer C box system that fits in the opening with the cassette trays, to see what other options they did that could interchange, maybe they had done gauge panels etc. I remember I found some limited info, but I can't remember unearthing anything brilliant.
