Might get even colder for coming hours, usually coldest hours are those around 7am here. Has been horrifying week. Was last time warmer than -20C over 4 days ago, this might become 5th day under -20C, week's average temperature is -24.4C currently. Should ease off tomorrow evening though, pleasant -10C next week then, I did read that in UK there was also -10C and army was mobilized to help, sometimes our news can be a bit misleading though.
It was -4.5 C in Doncaster at 9 am this morning. We are set to be in the centre of the area of snow expected tonight, should be interesting. It's been cold for a few days now with daytime temps barely above 0 C and frost on the ground all day in the shadows, certainly cold enough for snow. Ovlov is ready and poised for snow fun 2moro! Not sure about the army but quite possible, mind you stupid UK media likes to hype up every ice crystal into disaster movie material. -30 C would cause us great problems as people are just not used to it, but we have had some practice with snow in the last 2 years
It's been sub-zero at night for a few nights until last night. Had been raining at some point this morning, now drizzle damp. Currently a comparatively roasty-toasty 8C here (Dublin)
Snow at 2pm, light but nice and dry, blowing in the wind, 2 or 3 cm on level ground. Been out for a drive in the 340, starting to get a bit slippery but the dry powdery snow feels quite resistant to sliding, tyres just push it to one side and bit onto the tarmac! Actually more slippery on wet salted part of roads!
Hi all.
The weather in Belfast is quiet good compared to the rest
of the UK. We normally get the shittyist weather
Jani, how do you stick the cold in your part of the world?
Cheers Mark.
Not deep by other countries standards, but for this part of the UK a nice covering of snow! 3 winters together we've had snow now, makes up for all the years with nothing! For a bit of fun in the snow I'll take the car out on the roads, despite the salt on the main roads, once or twice a year won't do too much damage.
Cold spell has left the area. well, for a while at least, less than -10C outside, need just to get my t-shirt and shorts
Winter tip number #356313:
Put cardboard to front of radiator, make approx 2 inches (5cm) diameter hole to it where air can flow trough. Car warms up much faster as wind does not blow to engine block cooling it.
Especially good at our countryside, not so great when driving in slow traffic. Anyway that is only way to get my french to operating temperature in cold times.

I'd imagine a gallon of unleaded and some matches would be faster whilst also making the world a better place
