Headlamp stone guards

Who remembers those metal wire meshes that you were supposed to install front of headlamp to protect from stones etc?

I need now to know how original ones were mounted. I happened to find two in good condition that fits 360 really well, like if they were meant to 360, but mounting is probably wrong, so need to know which kind there was in those used in these cars, then I could make similar mounting.

Also would need to think if I should paint them with some colour, black or car colour, or leave as they are

Maybe it is ugly thing? I don't honestly know, it just might save soon to be rare headlamp glasses from damage on our roads

Hmm, heated seats, headlamp stone guards, dealer special turbos, snowcaps, you have missed a ton, oh was there also non opening rear side windows on lower spec 3dr model there? But at least you got rear window wiper which none of cars here got, but maybe stone guards are something that is not so horrible to miss?

We got heated seats... it gets cold in the home counties

Yeah, our poverty cars had non opening rear windows, we didn't get "L" versions of cars though.

Ah, must be some other car model that I mixed up heated seats then, were standard in Scandinavia and option from other places.

Amusing how they chose different specs to different places tough.

Might hack something up for attaching those stone guards, if I decide to ho with those anyway. They were popular among people living at countryside at 70's and 80's here, would fit to era of these cars.

The "Black Beauty" is of course a 343DL

and may I also present exhibit B - a 1982 343DL.



This DL also has a heated driver's seat and headlamp washer/wipers.

exhibit C - a 1985 MY 340DL


(Now if you look at the detail difference even between the 82 and 85, you'll see why I don't like to use those 'orrible terms "Mark x,y or z")

I will however, grant you a reprieve....



This 1987 MY DL doesn't have opening rear side windows.

Maybe I should change my post to "well, late DL's"

Can I claim I've never owned anything less than a GL, or.. for that matter, before MY89 Might just be easier to quietly walk in the opposite direction!
