Wheels .... Ins and Outs

Hi,

Does anyone know (for sure and have experience of) what the largest size wheel/tyre combo is possible on a 360GLT

I have done a conversion on a website telling me that I could fit 15" rims with 195/50/15 tyres and that the rolling diameter of the wheel would only be +3mm, which means little difference to the radius of the wheel. BUT will it mean the the width of the tyre would rub on either chassis rails (front when on full lock) or arches ?

Also, what is the standard PCD .... 35, 38 ?

The reason I would like bigger wheels = I can fit better brakes up front

Thanks in advance

Well i have on mine a 195/60 R15, no rubbing ( that`s with standard not lowered suspension )

I find that size will rub if the wheels are not dished. I had ATS cups and chris has Ronal 5-spokes which both are 7J and run that tyre size, neither rub.

standard offset of my 14" volvo alloys is ET40 on a 5.5J rim

I did have some et 38 15"x6J wheels and they rubbed on the front struts on 195/55's but not on 195/50's, think it was just due to the fact the 195/55's had like a lip on the tyre to protect the wheels.

195/50/R15 fit standard height cars fine, Toyo T1Rs are very cheap in this size for some reason.

Now seriously looking at BMW Mini wheels (seen on another users car on here).

Just need to make sure they have nice clearance for decent brake calipers

Mine are 35 and 37 offsets that Speedy refers too. I did start going through wheel bearings more often on the front (25,000ishmiles), but they are an easy change.
