Volvo 360 GLT Group A For Sale in Australia (and a C202)

Hi All

I thought I should post this on this forum, as this is where the interest lies for the 300 series cars. This is a significant car for Australian Volvo history, as it was one of the first two 360s brought into the country, one of two rallied in period, and the only one circuit raced (both in Group A).

For Sale is a 1983 Volvo 360 GLT, one of two brought into Australia as an evaluation vehicle by Volvo Australia. Subsequently used during a 24 hour record attempt at Surfers Paradise Raceway, Gold Coast and later in Group A Touring Cars, with Mike Minear. (Those with long memories will recall it not being at the front of the pack.)

Later purchased by Russell Reid in Queensland, it was converted to Group A rally specification with the introduction of that formula, Russell's old Group G Mazda RX2 being forced out into the paddock. In 1988 Russell with his regular navigator Chris Lane were successful in securing the 1600 to 2000 cc Australian title.

Subsequently sold through a succession of owners, it ended up at my place, and now is moving on with the spares that come with the car. Offers over $3,000 AUD. Some history to go with the car as well.

I have recently come back in contact with Russell, currently Chris Lane is off the radar however, if anyone knows him let him know to give myself, or Russell a "Hoi" sometime. I would also be interested in talking with Mike Minears, if he is still about, racing Daihatsus or another beast.
