Help needed from people that have done it, or are genius'
Does the flywheel need changed?
Early B14 (points) going into a late 340.
Worth changing to renix as the engine goes in?
All opinions welcome.
Renix conversion from points.

Noooooooooooooooooooooooo
Personaly I would go with a electronic unit in the dizzy.
Better than having issues with crank sensor and renix unit. + no silly rev limiter.

Renix's are bullet proof, but time is of the essance, I reckon you need to see whether the flywheel needs changing, if so just do that as it'd be rude not to do the flywheel now.
If you can get hold of a late flywheel pronto that is.

Yeah man, its a "get it moving and get it moved" affair, not a time for elaborate electronic upgrades atm.classicswede wrote:Noooooooooooooooooooooooo

Cheers for the opinion though dude. Sounds interesting. Maybe something for the future.
Agreed.Chris_C wrote:Renix's are bullet proof, but time is of the essance, I reckon you need to see whether the flywheel needs changing, if so just do that as it'd be rude not to do the flywheel now.

Re: Renix conversion from points.
if the car currently is points....
- renix flywheel
- bellhousing
- TDC-sensor
- distributor
- Renix unit + coil cable
depending on wich year/engine/carb B14 you start with, it's wise to swap carb+exhaustmanifold and downpipe aswell.
